Take a step back and think. In an unknown game nothing is obvious - which is why two of the people you highlighted as being the ones going after you are now proven innocents. Mistaken but innocent. The fact you were out of character, or that there was a reason you were performing the task you were on was not in doubt to me. Where I saw it as suspicious was how you handled the questions - which I still think was the wrong way to have done it. My main focus of thinking now is that the discussions on you and AFC were so disrupting to the town that a positive investigation would have been revealed last night, even at the expense of exposing the investigator - and it wasn't! That is true. But neither of us expect to live for the full five days (see the first two lynches and last nights assassination attempt on me as evidence) so we figured we may as well do our best for the town and ignore the side game.

No, if we both survive until the end then we both lose. If we both die we both lose. If town fails to win we lose.

The only way either of us win is if town win and the other surfer dies.
