A great shame he has gone - the lad Cole from Fulham seems more of a right winger than a like for like replacement but I suppose Weso will now come back in as a centre mid. Obviously Ryan decided he wanted to go (and I do not blame him) but I suspect we have been mugged again in terms of getting anywhere near what he is worth. In my view we are significantly weaker now in terms of the playing staff than we were at the end of last season and our League 1 experience does not look to be any improvement on the last time we went up. (Please prove me wrong MM and the players).
You will notice that all of the players leaving us are getting 3 to 4 year contracts. Perhaps a big mistake by the management with some of our key players.
I'm not sure whether agents and players will accept more than 2 year contracts (with options) from a lower league club.
http://www.barnsley-chronicle.co.uk/sport/article/10984/mellon-excited-for-oakwell-return ”This summer, the Shrews have lost Connor Goldson to Brighton for £800,000, Ryan Woods to Brentford for just more than £1million, Josh Ginnelly to Burnley for £100,000 and 17-year-old goalkeeper Harry Lewis to Southampton for £250,000. I don't know if that is an actual quote or a guestimate by the reporter stuck in amongst other quotes.
