I'm going to add a huge pat on the back for our board who have resisted the opportunity to sell players on the cheap to reduce their losses. Another big risk on behalf of our club by these guys who have already had their fingers badly burned. Surely we now have the squad for them and us to get a longer term payoff.
He doesn't have knees. In fact, his legs are prosthetic and he has ovarian cancer with 8 days to live.
Just seen a tweet from this reputable source - OldBigHead - that sums up where we've finished as the transfer window 'slams shut': please log in to view this image @OldBigHead When you look at some of the players who couldn't even make our second XI.... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image @OldBigHead think we need to loan a few out to League 1 and League 2, maybe even weaker Championship sides.
Agree with him our second string would do okay in this division. Just need to get it all together and do well
Did read on the BBC feed that Palace did inquire but Charlie said he wasn't interested in moving to them. With him and Phillips staying I am very happy tonight and with Chery getting better each game I am far more optimistic that we will be at the business end of the table come April.
Man City buying Sterling gave you a bit of room to breathe, glad he's staying put, it's shocking no one bid the asking price, but some would pay more than double for an unproven kid. It's nice to see a story like that after Berahino's behavior. Good luck for the season, look forward to getting 6 points off you next season in the EPL
What a day! I was busy at work so could only check what was happening on my phone. I'm so pleased Charlie is staying. What a top man. His tweets were brilliant and like Big Ern above me just said, how refreshing for a modern day footballer to behave with such integrity. Especially when you see what Berahino did to West Brom. Above all else, retaining Austin, Phillips, Fer and Green sends out a huge message about our club as a whole. At last it seems we're beginning to head in the right direction. We're getting our Rangers back. I bet the rest of the Championship clubs were gutted with today's lack of events.
Agree 9's i read a few tweets prior to deadline day saying we would lose our best players and struggle. TBH i cannot see many Championship squads as good as ours (if any).
