According to the BBC website they are interviewing people connected to clubs asking their views on the transfer window This guy is described as a committee member of our supporters association and says we need three more signings to HAVE ANY CHANCE of avoiding relegation as we haven't done enough in the transfer market. Where did the BBC find this tool, or is it just someone who fits the media's view we are only here to make up the numbers this season. Pricks the lot of them.
Mentioned this the other day regarding opinion on Sunderland/Newcastle future when they are in similar positions. Yesterday on talksport, they asked the Paddypower guy about who, currently occupying the bottom positions would ultimately be safe/have relegatio0n issues. Apparently Newcastle WILL be ok and Sunderland, deserving of their relegation favourites title, WILL be going down. The difference between us is one goal ! (I know all clubs can quote the ''what ifs'' and ''if onlys'' ) - but if Rooneys goal had been allowed, we'd got the penalty against Swansea and Catts hadn't v Villa -- then we'd be 5 pts ahead of them !
Apart from your if's, buts and maybe's, I agree with you when it comes to this lazy comparison between us and the mags. These guys don't seem to do their homework at all. I'm quite happy to be the underdog though and be written off by the experts. If and when we get out of trouble it just makes them look like the fools they are.
I don't care about being classed as underdogs. I don't care if we're written off after less than half a dozen games, rightly or wrongly, by so-called pundits who somehow make a living spouting nonsense. What flexes my viscera is no-name geordie comedians failing miserably to one-up us by belittling our new signing, a player we've courted for over 2 years now, suggesting no one else was in for him and we'd have been better off without him. Horseshit. And where do the bbc get off suggesting this is somehow newsworthy? Now jog on ya hairy mong. Also, Graham assmaster courtney on shoutshit. Spend an age talking about all of Newcastles deadline day activity (****ing none as it happens) and skim right over us as if we don't matter and still insist that Borini dropped us in it last year again suggesting we shouldn't have him or shouldn't want him. FFS. If you're not one of the top teams who get all the coverage and serious debate, and you're not another club who are 'doing well', 'making improvements' and 'might struggle but stand a chance' you're Sunderland and '**** them' . I'm going for a steamy wee cos my piss is boiling.
Yeah, we look silly 'going back' for someone who shunned us! It's not like Schteve MacJargon turned the Mags down twice last year is it ?!?!?
We have flirted with relegation for the past two years, well saying flirted is being kind, we all thought we were nailed on both season's. However we managed to stay up and our squad has improved but the media give us no credit for doing so, and now Borini has finally signed some say we are mad for taking him. Why does our club receive such poor press when the the other two clubs with two points are just waiting for their top signings to settle in. Even Chelseas poor start is just a blip and they escape a lot of press criticism, it just goes on and on for our club and I for one am heartedly sick of it.
You whinge about people saying idiotic/stupid things, then take the piss out of disabled people by referring to them in such an extremely offensive way What a ****ing hypocritical ****
One thing I have to say, we whinge about press having a dig, but any regular at the SOL will testify the biggest people with negative input to our club is a massive section of our own fans. Always a scapegoat, first mistake a chorus of boos, we have to help ourselves. I'll stand by for the same names saying 'we have a right to boo' etc, but ****ing hell, you don't do that at 0-0 for a miscontrol, you don't do that 0-1 with 20 minutes gone. We have a great number of people turn up every week, we have a far smaller number of 'supporters', in some ways it's little wonder that the press always have the knives out. This isn't a sweeping generalisation, for the record, it's not a majority, but it's a big enough segment to impact the players and bring that fear factor to the lads when we play at home. Positivity has to start from within.
Include in this the number who leave after 80 minutes every home game. It looks crap on the telly and must look crap to the home players on the pitch (and give a bit of a boost to the away team). I'm sure that supporters at every club could decide to beat the traffic, but for some reason we have more who do this. Back in the Roker Park days I remember that if we conceded a goal, after a few seconds of stunned silence there would be a massive roar as we kicked off which must have had an effect on both teams. At the moment we are making it easy for teams (and their fans) who come here. Our crowd is a 12th man for the opposition instead of for the team that they claim to support.
Sorry I offended. although I don't quite agree with your interpretation of what I said vs what this fella said I object to being called a ****! Especially when your objection is over offensive name calling. Now who's the hypocrit?
I was dead against Borini coming back, but I totally agree with the sentiments expressed here about our patchy home support, and I hope he is not a target for the boo boys in the crowd, we must give him all the support he will need to put the past behind him, and be the success we should all want him to be If he is an outstanding success and moves on to bigger things as did Jordan and Mig., then we are all winners.
I thought our fans were excellent against Swansea and stayed with the team even when they went behind. If we keep this attitude up all season it will be worth a good number of points for us..
