To be honest here I think this should not be possible. If the quota is a paultry 8 home grown players from a squad of 25 it should at least stipulate that they are eligable to play for one of the British nations otherwise what is the point of such a ruling.
"Staying in England, Miguel Layun came on in the 72nd minute for Watford in its 2-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad on Saturday, but ESPN Mexico reports it could be his last game, at least for now, with Porto eyeing a loan deal"
Spot on - his attitude and approach even when he wasn't getting picked were exceptional. One of my favourite players and, as you say, Wednesday have got themselves a decent player and a wonderful pro. Good luck to him.
Angella to QPR From Milan – Deal still alive for QPR to land Italian before deadline SPORT WITNESSSport Witness Football View Discussions please log in to view this image According to claims in the Italian Media, Queens Park Rangers still have a chance of signing Watford defender Gabriele Angella before the transfer window closes tomorrow. Only last week we covered reports the Championship side were interested in the Watford player after his agent held talks with the club. TMW have revealed from the ATA Hotel that QPR still want to bring in Angella during this transfer window after his agent held talks last week in London. The ATA Hotel is in Milan and is where agents and clubs meet in the final few days before the close of a window to get deals done. The Italian looks surplus to requirements at Watford despite being a regular, and QPR are keen to sign him after they lost personnel this summer. The West London club will have ambitions to bounce back to the Premier League after being relegated last season. Despite playing in 22 Championship games during Watford’s promotion season Angella has yet to have any minutes in the Premier League during the club’s first 3 games. His only game has come in the Capital One Cup and he may need to move on to get first team football at another club. Angella's chances look limited at Watford, and a move to QPR could be beneficial for his career. Update - Since we reported on these claims from Italy TMW have confirmed the deal has now been completed to take Angella to QPR
I'm pretty confused with our transfer policy at the moment. We are getting rid of Layun, yet he was in our matchday squad just two days ago and got game time. So far, from what I've seen, I've been more impressed with Layun that Jurado. Also, Layun is our joint leading goal scorer!!
Talk of Vydra going but he is one of only three strikers as we speak. Layun played and did well at Everton and as you say came on on Saturday, there must be some logic in this somewhere but its hiding itself well !!!
Have we had this one yet? Rather lost track. http://www.southlondonpress.co.uk/a...ted in Crystal Palace and Australia captain M
This is starting to sound a bit crazy, but maybe it is just the way of the premiership?? Just hope that we aren't just getting is Flores' mates...maybe unfair, but I am starting to wonder
Linked with Victor Ibarbo at Roma. Excellent FIFA Ultimate Team stats according to Mini Bloother. No, me neither
He will be good for our team at the moment then. I think any Italian or Spanish or anyone playing in the two lands is fair to link to Watford.
