Borini will do very well for us, and mainly on 25th Oct !, 3-4-3 against Spurs Borini--- Alo----Defoe very nice.
I'm going to be very interested in Borini's reasons for signing this year, what an improvement over Graham and Fletcher though!!
Sunderland’s new Number 9 Fabio Borini has spoken of his delight after returning to Wearside on a four-year contract. The 24-year-old has left Liverpool for the Black Cats in a deal worth £8million. And the emotional forward is looking forward to making his return to the Stadium of Light. “I am delighted to be back at Sunderland,” said Borini. He then enjoyed a loan spell with Swansea City, scoring six goals to help guide the Welsh side to the Barclays Premier League in 2011. A return to his native Italy followed with Serie A giants Roma before making the move to Liverpool in 2012. Borini made just four Premier League starts for Liverpool after declining Sunderland’s advances last summer, but it has been increasingly clear that his career on Merseyside was over. The 24-year-old has been training away from the first-team squad this summer and while he turned Sunderland down 12 months ago, he has remained on good terms with Sunderland sporting director Lee Congerton. Borini could make his return in the Black Cats’ home game against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 13th September.
Can we call this the final borini thread now?.....until his hat trick against you know who in October
Similar amount of money as Wickham I would have Borini any day over Wickham. At least he has a footballing brain and can make runs and find space, great piece of buying/selling IMO.
Just as we can now put the "will he won't he" debate behind us I'm doing the same with the "why didn't he" debate and just looking forward to seeing the manager do the business with what we now have plus if we get in another defender it will be a bonus.
Need a number 10 now... Ramos? Van dijk for Fletch + cash? Loan a lb for cover? Hoping that's how it plays out! Then get rid of Buckley, brids, roberge, mav, and imo that's one hell of a window. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
I'm happy with this I think he'll be a very good signing. I reckon he'll link up great with our attack. Not that it's important but it's quite satisfying to have finally got our man as well.
Well although I did not want him back, no one will be happier to be proved wrong, and his goals help us climb the table.
