So I notice Seb has been recalled to the Cameroon squad for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers. Am I right in thinking it's been quite a while since he's made it into the national squad? Says something about his ongoing improvement over the last season and a bit, eh?
The website-that-shall-not-be-named suggests that he last was in the squad in 2013 but last played in 2011. I don't remember him being picked in 2013 while he was with us! I actually think he's a much better footballer now than two years ago. Less show-boating, better concentration from what I've seen. It's as if the spell on loan, then being brought under Neil's wing really matured him. Well deserved IMO.
Early 2017. Obviously there will be plenty of qualifiers before then, but I'm not sure whether they fall during the standard international match breaks or not TBH.
Hello irdan, seems to have been a while? I believe there is one, yes EDIT - no, just the African Nations Championship. ACoN is every two years 2015,2017, 2019 etc
AN is really making a huge impression and deserves all the plaudits. He is bringing the best out of the whole squad - apart from Grabban but that is his problem and soon he will be gone.
I think Grabban's will still be a city player on Tuesday. AN or DM will not let an act of petulance force any player to hold the club to ransome. The only way he'll go is if Bournemouth meet the club's valuation and it's in the club's best interest to sell.
AN has said that he will only be sold if our valuation is met. Bassong does seem to be more focused and consistent. Don't get injured on international duty please Seb.
There is still a part of Bassong's game that makes my arse clench and that is when he looks up, takes that monster stride and dribbles forward to around about the half way spot. He was caught out last game and got a yellow for trying to do a Cruyff turn in an attempt to get himself out of bother as his third (heavy) touch let him down...I get cold sweats when he does this. Please stop this Seb. Thank you. CHina
It makes me nervous too. This is the thing that Russ does offer at CB, he is very good on the ball he has a tendency to attack like he's still a full back.
Seemed ludicrous to play him at Rotherham, why risk it? Would love to know the reason for that. Our other CB options need all the game time they can get.
AN has got the knack on man management, that is what makes him so much betetr than the majority in his trade.
Hi mate - been lurking a bit but not really posting as busy with work and daughter. That's good news. Hope you're well.
