I think Rodgers would have been out the door along time ago if it weren't for Suarez, who I believe made him look like he was a great manager, when in fact he just had a great player at the top of his game winning games for him every week.

That season when you just missed out has bought Rodgers some extra time in the job, but much like Benitez who lived off the back of your CL win for so many years, eventually the money men at the top will lose patience. I think he'll be gone about Christmas

 

the goals we conceded yesterday I don't think you can blame Rodgers for, that same defence have had three clean sheets in a row and looked solid. Lovren decided to show us his real ability and we conceded one and the first one came from a scuffed shot poked in. Third one was terrible defending by Skrtel.

But I've said countless of times, Skrtel and Lovren will not get us where we want to be, when the whole team defends it makes them look good because we have 11 men behind the ball. Against West Ham we were never going to have a defensive set up and they got shown up as expected. Against Man U we will go there with a defensive set up which will make them look great again.

Oh and we paid 32.5 million for another Ballotelli

 

Benitez post Istanbul took us to an FA Cup final win, a CL final in Athens, 5 top 4 finishes out of a possible 7.

 

First goal was poor from skertl... very poor... then gomez was really very bad as he should have cleared it as I would put him favorite all day to get it there

Second goal was atrocious.

Third goal is largely irrelevant how stupid skertl was the big point was the whole team gave up before noble ever got sent off. There was no team just individuals by then


The reality was by 25/30 mins the team was totally out of ideas.

Rodgers had his brain fart on the bench and rather than one simple sub and a rollicking to the team he went for the total change.

Btw the correct thing after 10 mins here was to pull the head off coutinho for cutting in and glue him to lw. After 30 as harsh as it sounds but gomez should have been off and moreno on at lb.

The formation change was ridiculous..... coutinho then got a self inflicted red and the game was long over but Rodgers in his Wisdom had left Lucas on rather than can and so ended up with him being totally shattered by 70 mins. ..

Everything that could go wrong did go wrong honestly but it exposes several deep issues.

1. Rodgers will never pick moreno at lb.

2. As a result we play in half the pitch width.

3. Rodgers has drilled ball retention to such an extent lovern thought... Hmmm back to goal, under pressure.. Can't see my keeper.. no out ball.. I'm not toeing this out..... if this happen at Chelsea Mourinho would end a career.

4. Lucas plays decent for one game and is the saviour. Can plays box to box like people on here think he is and he's poor.... the obvious is can is a DM. Lfc are short of options in midfield.

5. Firmino has no idea what's going on. Has anyone drilled anything with him or is it him?

 

No point doing that. They don't need sense or facts cos lfc lost.

Agree with all, very strange to drop Can and keep Lucas on as we were 2-0 at that point and Lucas offers no attacking intent.

 

These mancs that have only known success under Fergie forget(don't know)just how **** their managers were from 1969 until Ferguson's first success at OT, Benitez won as many European Cups/CL's as Sir Matt and half as many as Fergie won in 26 years.........in his 2nd season with us.

 

So 1 FA Cup win in 7 years, a trophy that isn't even looked upon as a major trophy these days

Yeah the facts are after Istanbul you won 1 minor trophy in 7 years under Benitez

 

its the fact he got us into a lot of good situations, like many semi finals of various comps, like cl even eufa etc.

we have not been that close to anything for fecking ages, we had the unit and even had a few quality players, just needed to build on it not the silly buy to sell ****e we ended up with and hence weakening what was built.

 

Ah... so the fact up is minor so that's why you dont bother winning it then..... riiiiiight.

I suppose the league is too minor lately for Utd and all then....

we know as he couldn't build on what he had built sadly.

we had(yeah maybe my opinion but prob hard to argue with to be honest) at one point the best midfield in the prem, he built that.

if rafa was given the money to spend that kenny,brendan and the other clown had to spend(ie wasted) i reckon there is a good chance we would have won a major honour by now.
