See this one is gathering pace again this morning.
I personally hope it's not true, I reckon he is going to have a big season for us and will be very influential.

One of Bruce's first names on the sheet each week. No chance imo.

    Totally agree mate.

I may be the only one, but I personally rate both Colback and Meyler higher. Last season Colback was excellent, very composed with neat passing. Meyler (when he's been fit) has impressed me, his willingness to put his foot into a tackle and also his passing is better than Catts (imo). The only question mark is his fitness, which if the club can rectify then we'll have another excellent prospect from the academy production line.

If Catts went (not that I'm advocating we sell him) I wouldn't be that concerned, we'd get a hefty fee for him and I'm sure we could pick up a better player for less than we receive for him, lots won't agree but thats football.

The 'dirty'* Scotsman and his English team again. I can believe it and I agree completely that Meyler accomplishes all that Cattermole does and better, as for Colback -he's done very well, but he's not the same kind of player imo

    * the dirty modern game Rule Book (shirt-holding, ear tweaking, spitting, diving etc) and a great deal more that we despise was virtually written by ****heads like him and Sourness imo

You're not the only one, i totally agree (although i do like Catts).

There's talk of £12million, and that's a lot of money.

Isn't there a buyout clause in his contract? Something like £12.75 million. Given his injuries and disciplinary record I think a deal might be on.

I can't see this being true at all, we have too many midfielders as it is.. why would we add one more?

If rumours are true he is upset at losing the captaincy, which i am pleased it has been taken from him if thats the case
personally i would keep him but an offer of £10m plus i would sell and use the money to splash out on a striker which in my opinion we still desperatley need

I think it's bollocks, they see Kenny targeting young English, see you haven't bought a young English holding player, put 2+2 together, and come up with a tale.

I do think he's got the potential ability to make it as a Liverpool player, but the problem of the great nightlife in the city could have a negative influence on the lad.

    See ya Catts !

Can go for me, injury prone, is far too rash and obviously misses loads of games.

I like Catts also, but should we get offered £10m+ I'd be tempted to let him go. Meyler looks to me to be a better all round player providing he can stay fit.

    Can't see it.

    There midfield will be.

    Kuyt....Gerrard....Adam......Downing

Then they have Henderson, mereiles, lucas and maxi for cover. Also that shelvey and joe cole. Not to mention Aquilani and I think Poulsen is still there.

    I would agree.
I think we'll need to sell again before bringing in the 'marquee' signing, otherwise it would have happened already I think.

If we did sell Catts to Liverpool I hope they'd drag it out until after the first game of the season!

I keep reading that Catts has had the captaincy taken away, and that it's been given to O'Shea. Can someone point me to a link where this is confirmed, as I can't find one on the OS? Or is this just hearsay that has become accepted fact? I did read something - just hearsay - that O'Shea was to be made club captain, which is the position that Zenden held, but this is distinct from being team captain. Cheers. <ok>

Id snap Liverpool's hand off for 10 million, then SB would have to get a striker and LW surely after being in profit with transfers!
