The AFCON seriously dented Riyad and Jeff's form last season. Very happy it is't happening this time around.
Just read an article on foxes talk which indicates we have withdrawn from the race to sign this lad. Reason for this is that he is 80 percent short of the required number of appearances for his country, to be awarded a work permit The article goes on to say that Leicester had agreed to pay 8 million euros and terms had been agreed with the player. If this article is true what on earth are our transfer negotiators thinking of , surely before you undertake any sort of negotitions with the player or his club they are satisfied that the player has the requisite qualifications to receive a work permit. If true this worries me about the people we have running the club
I disagree, I think you identify the player through all the stats and systems they use and then I'd they really want them use the appeal process and hope for the best
True - the people running our club are clueless idiots as show by all of our previous transfers have been flops and we are sitting at the bottom of the premier league with no hope of survival. Actually our current situation is opposite that - WTF is up with your doom and gloom post? Players can get special dispositions to get work permits to play here - e.g. Gabriel at Arsenal who is uncapped for Brazil - but you wouldn't find out until you have completed the formalities and applied for the permit . Unfortunately for us, from what you are saying this lad is not eligiable - maybe if we had some board members also on the board of the FA like Arsenal it would be different but oh well.
I see you're a new member... Is your post a wind up? You question how our club is being run? Specifically with transfers? They didn't too bad with the months of negotiations with Cambiasso did they? Or with the ongoing scenario of Inler? Kante? Are you one of those City fans whose glass will always be a quarter full even if we were top of the league and in the champions league?
The government have recently tightened up on the rules for permits. Lots of loopholes in any govt legislation though. If we really want him, then I think we will pursue. If indifferent, then leave well alone. Looks decent to me though.
Yes, mystery injury that magically cleared up before the end of the tournament. I did think it was an annual tournament so pleased to hear there isn't one this season.
We have pulled the plug but remain interested in Amartey for if/when his circumstances towards getting a permit change
