I've said before that I go to football to be entertained. If we're going to play hoofball for the rest of the season then Saints and I are heading for a falling out. Vin
And while it might not be Pelle's fault that we're playing in that fashion, now's perhaps the time for a game or two where we release the handbrake and find out whether we can play football again. Start Long. Start Tadic. Start Mane. Let's see if there's some passes in this team.
Who are all these injured players waiting to come back. Surely there are only 2. They will need to be Messi and Ronaldo to make a difference. West Ham fans will be loving this!
We are just playing such a crass brand of football now. Gonna take some turning around i think, but got to trust Koeman and his staff to do it. I hope that i see something entirely different on Sunday, but not holding my breath.
Each to their own. I don't see how some people can get this angry over a football game. But that is my opinion.
I can't believe we are having to debate if we are capable of playing football - what a shambles from 4 months ago
Can't be starting long then, he's only good at running, nothing to do with the ball. Other than a once in a blue moon screamer!
I'm mainly just embarrassed. But glad to reclaim my Thursdays for, er, just sitting and watching TV. And is probably worth focusing back on the league - so we can qualify for Europe next year! Maybe even Champions League, what does everyone say??
Tiss I agree, but that doesn't excuse kicking most balls aimlessly somewhere up front,I'm dreading the bus ride back on Sunday with two Norwich supporting friends.
Here's a thing. With the team as it is, and the squad that we have....maybe.....just maybe it's a blessing we're out at this stage. Maybe it was a year too early. Mane, Wanyama, Clasie, Bertrand, Forster. Kinda important.
To b fair though, Bertrand coming in for Targett would really improve us. And if Clasie is as good as people say (I've seen very little of him), then he's surely superior to Davis. Not to mention we were without Wanyama and Mane too (although I appreciate that that hasn't been the case previously, and both have been available). God knows why Ron hasn't played Cedric in either of these games though, especially tonight.
They stated on BT sport that we had the sixth lowest payroll. No wonder our better players want to bugger off. Come on Saints keep the quality players and buy some quality. The ones we have bought in do not do it
This team cannot handle the pressure. We are tactically naive and have not been around the block enough.. Dec14 - carling cup exit to a poor Sunderland team that we previously beat 8-0 Feb15 - poor run of results just as everyone started to take us serious as champions league contenders April/May15 - champions league is gone but we can still finish above Spurs or Liverpool. Shock horror another poor run or results..
We're just not going down - no way. We have about half our first team out. They'll be back after the international break. Ron should ban our physio from sitting on the bench - that's why we lost. Naive.
Could have been worse Beefy - we might have scored and gone into extra time and been extra disappointed at the end after another English penalty shootout! Euthanasia has its moments and thankfully ours came today after 94 minutes...
Just enjoy the rest of the World Championship Athletics Whiteley. I shall. Although I have not seen Saints for quite a while but you sense from the scripts and results that there is an alarming lack of creativity and pace through this team that the end result is **** all.
I swore my first post wouldn't be a negative one. I'm actually quite a positive fan (honest!), but that was just so bad it was painful. Need to give another new look team time to settle, I get that, but what bothered me was we never looked like creating anything and particularly the lack of urgency at the end. Early days but admit I'm slightly worried
