Just put this on the 'Odemwingie' thread, but it's relevant to this as well: £14m price tag on Afobe to deter 'suitors' http://www.sportsvibe.co.uk/news/fo...f-canaries-with-benik-afobe-valuation-42291/? Thing is, if we've already offered (an alleged) £8m and Bournemouth are minted enough (they clearly are to pay £8m for Mings, a mid-table Championship defender ), then if we can offload Odemwingie part 2 to them for £5m, that's approximately the figure Wolves are looking for. Et voilà! Fait accompli! Though after last night's shenanigans, it's doubtful they'd want the petulant little arsehole back. Oh well, back to le drawing board
Bearing in mind that his senseless sending off at Rotherham could have cost us promotion last season I reckon he owes AN and the club a hell of a lot more loyalty than he is showing. In the modern game other than the goal keeper and maybe a few other "key" men it is a squad not a team game and players will sometimes be in and sometimes out. For a fair part of last season LG was in. He then got sent off and suspended and CJ came in and did brilliantly. CJ has started the season well and so I feel it would be unreasonable for LG to expect to get back in the side immediately. I can understand why AN would want to pick RvW last night as he is probably still assessing his capabilities at a competitive level whereas LG is a known quantity to him. LG's reaction was childish and petulant and is either going to get him back to the South Coast or rotting in the reserves for a while as I can't see AN letting this slide. My preference is take £6m and whatever meaningless add-ons Bournemouth offer and then use the funds to pick up someone with a bit more ability and a better attitude. Regardless of his actions last night I would still prefer to hold onto Hooper as I reckon its easier to reduce his pie intake than to teach LG how to hit a cows arse with a banjo.

I wouldn't read too much into it at this stage, the guy often has a rather muddied crystal ball to gaze into. Wait for an official statement - though Rotherham is only 9.7 miles away from Sheffield
David Wyatt @DavidWyattNFL So @SkySportsNewsHQ are reporting that @SpursOfficial are ready to loan out @yedlinny , @NorwichCityFC were heavily linked last month Typical, a week after Wisdom comes to the club on a season long loan!
Now it's getting serious... http://www.skysports.com/football/n...f-16310m-from-norwich-city-rejected-by-wolves I find it difficult to believe that these bids are now made up, and if so we must be pretty sure (despite Kenny Jackett's statements) that we can eventually get our man, otherwise why would we be wasting this time?
Really surprised he is commanding this fee already! Not played Championship football for long! I wonder if Arsenal put on a big old sell on fee, and that's why Wolves want so much for him.
Much as I like Afobe, I'd be very worried if we gamble £14m on a striker with only 6 months in the Championship and no PL experience at all. Could blow up big-time.
Players Bournemouth should sign instead of Grabban: http://news.ladbrokes.com/football/premier-league/5-lewis-grabban-alternatives-bournemouth.html? All seem pretty unlikely. Berbatov on a free anyone?
Can I just put the record straight on Lafferty. I am not a frequent visitor to Corals on Colman Road but did go in yesterday and saw him there. My friend, who is a regular customer there, confirmed that Lafferty was often there but his stakes were not very substantial and there is no indication that he has any sort of gambling problem. I am not really bothered about any dispute about the merits of Hooper over Grabban as I don't think either of them are up to EPL standard and would be quite happy if both go. In fact it wouldn't bother me if they took RvW and Lafferty with them but that is not going to happen. I trust AN to spend wisely on a striker and if RvW and Lafferty remained as back up to Jerome and the new boy it is probably as good as it is going to get.
It doesn't concern me in the slightest if he or anyone else has a flutter (assuming it's not against football rules), I am fond of a bet myself
See, this is what many NCFC fans are naively thinking - with no regard for squad numbers of 25 senior pros and even less thought about still having to pay Lafferty / RvW / Hooper and Turner's not inconsiderable wages, as nobody has shown any genuine interest in taking them off our hands. (Apologies twitterer if you use this ite, but this is just plain ****ing stupid and shows no business acumen whatsoever!) @namewithelddeliberately Call me gung ho but I'd happily pay £15m for an Austin or Afobe. Could be priceless come end of the season. Austin isn't likely but possible.
What evidence can you possibly have that Hooper is not good enough for the EPL? Hooper has never kicked a ball in the Premiership as far as I know. We know he can score goals so I find it difficult to understand why he is being written off. He was highly rated before joining us and was very popular at Celtic. When he first arrived there was alot of excitement at his arrival. He generally scores on a regular basis when he plays, I just dont get it? How can we turn a highly rated talent, that was not a cheap bargin basement buy, into a flop that we are looking into loaning out. Same with RVW, Lafferty and Grabban. Is it something the club is doing wrong? or have our expectations become too big?
