Morning, pilgrims. Hope everyone well. I really like one today and it been a while since I said that. In fact when I saw it my roguedar flashed uncontrollably – and still is in fact. And it’s not in a contest I’d normally nominate one in either – an apprentice handicap ‘oooooooooooooooop’ at Carlisle (5.05). IMPULSIVE AMERICAN is under the care of those terrible old rogues, the Pipe’s, and has his first run for them today since being purchased from across The Channel. He’s still a maiden after 9 starts, on the level, but a perch of 64 doesn’t look at all harsh given that he’s finished a decent 2nd in his last pair of heats. Long term I expect he will go hurdling but I would be amazed if the old rogues can’t exploit this rating first. Furthermore, the stable are in decent form with 5 winners since 13th August and the promising apprentice, Shane Gray, has been booked. Impulsive American’s opponents don’t look the greatest bunch ever assembled and I think current quotes of 4/1 are more than, and I do mean more than, fair. Meanwhile, treble your bet if you’ve any proof that ‘Daddy’ Martin had the ‘magic fridge’ open last eve. Good luck, troops.
5.00 Brighton. BYRD IN HAND 5-1. Will love the soft conditions at Brighton. Win bet. Single and doubles with Arsenal 1-0 (7-1) and 2-1 (8-1) correct scorelines tonight v Liverpool.
Just had a look at the 2.45 Kempton and can't be having the fav at 6/4. Last week Premier Currency beat Captain Gerald by 2 1/2 lengths for about 6lbs. Today PC has gone up 5lbs while CG is dropped 3lbs, so am I right in thinking CG is 2lb better off? Furthermore CG has a 7lb claimer on board which would have to be taken on trust but having the fav at 6/4 or CG AT 9/1 surely CG is the better off and more likely to finish ahead. Any thoughts?
17:00 Brighton - Dippinganddiving e/w (Had a sporting e/w punt on this daughter of Captain Rio at 18/1 with Racebets. Should certainly appreciate the softened ground conditions and, hopefully, will give a good account. Damsire, Arazi, also handled cut in the ground very well. Ridden by the excellent 5lb claimer Tom Marquand).
Chicken, chipped potatoes and salad. 8/10. 35 non-runners at the time of writing! Meanwhile, I see that Katie Walsh's visit to the county last Friday didn't end well. She got beat on a hotpot and got a 9 day ban as well! Let's hope it doesn't put her off us for good.
"Bacon" sandwich made with Serrano ham - when in Mallorca 8/10 Swanny - sounds like a 10/10 lunch to me - did you knock off a point because there was only 1 cold beer? Sir Barney - what does your mole in the met (office, not -ropolitan police) think about them losing the BBC contract? According to John Kettley they wanted too much dosh. http://www.theguardian.com/media/20...ted-too-much-money-from-bbc-says-john-kettley
He will have to be in the magic fridge if he's to get the better of the in form O'Meara runner Ingleby Hollow but I am rooting for you SBC, be a shame, I say, shame, to see your 2nd most favourite trainer losing this race.
omeara to ballydoyle article in the sun starting the rumours. common knowledge o'meara looking for a bigger yard. gossip that o'brien has fallen out with the lads after his son was replaced by ryan moore and the lads planning which races to run the horses in.
