Not quite sure about this valuation but if Austin came in I'd be happy.

    http://www.turkish-football.com/galatasaray-set-to-make-e5m-bid-for-newcastle-striker-cisse/?

alatasaray are set to make a €5 million bid for Newcastle United according to Fanatik.

The report claims that the Lions made an enquiry for the Senegal international and that Newcastle are prepared to listed to offers.

Galatasaray are in the transfer market for an additional striker and were closely linked with Zlatan Ibrahimovic last month.

The Lions won the league title for a record 20th time last season and earned the right to wear a fourth star on their crest. The Istanbul giants will play Champions League group stage football for the fourth consecutive season.

Newcastle recently rejected a bid from Beşiktaş for Papiss Cisse according to the Express and Trabzonspor had also been closely linked with the Senegal international.

Cisse who has two years remaining on this contract joined Newcastle from SC Freiburg for €14.5 million back in January 2012.

The experienced striker is keen on staying at Newcastle over the summer and scored 11 goals in 22 appearances for the Premier League outfit last season.

Papiss Cisse is a good striker but never a great one.

I would be tempted to sell IF we were getting a solid replacement.

Charlie Austin sounds good to me.

If their offer is is only 5m Euro I'd be telling them where to go. You can't get a good championship scorer for that never mind one who's scored quite a few in the PL.

I think Papiss is worth more than 5 mil' Euro, what's that, about 3.5 mil' quid!! But if him going meant we got Austin in I would be pretty happy with the swap. Charlie Austin may not be a proven pedigree EPL goal scorer............... but that's why he isn't 25+ million quid. The guy seems hungry for it and I think he's worth a go.

For that money no bloody way. He's a £7-10m striker, last year he moped around looking mostly ineffectual but still got 11 in 22 games, this year he has 1 in 1. We missed him when he was out for a stretch (due to his own stupidity) and even if he does nothing else in a game he can still score out of nothing. A few seasons back when he got 8 goals in 36 it looks a terrible conversion rate but I recall many were last minute winners...

I don't mind if we lose and replace him but is he worth more than that offer. 100% yes.

There is no doubt he has the knack of being in the right place when the ball is in the box. He is a quality goal snatcher. The problem with us is that we probably need a bit more from out starting CF if we are going to basically play 1 up top, someone who brings the rest of the team into the game more and can take some pressure off the defence. I wouldn't sell for that money though. He will get goals.
