He changes things too late, which means he doesn't set problems for the opposition. I wonder at times if he even knows which players are playing better for us and which aren't. You look at who he kept from last season and who he released. He keeps players on when they are doing nothing or just becoming too tired.

He will still start Huddlestone next match. What does he see in him?

Can't see him playing in the cup. Assume you mean the Preston game?

What did Huddlestone do wrong? He was fine. Just **** defensive, respectful tactics.

He gave the ball away, and has no real influence. We were better when he was off the field, just like last season around Christmas time or so when I think he was out the side briefly.

Huddlestone didn't particularly do anything wrong but the problem is he does nothing for us going forward! He influences a game not one bit and my 5 year old son would put run him.
I stick by what I've said in the past, he is a great player who is playing in the wrong team. We don't suit his style of play and haven't for around 18months. You stick him in a team which focuses on keeping the ball and patient football and he would do a great job but he simply slows us down too much. We are much better when we attack quickly and he is incapable of doing it, the one bright thing to come out of this is, we still have hopefully maloney, Diame and snodgrass to come back and that should give us the attacking impetus we need

Have to disagree with you on this.. The for 80 minutes of the game we were absolutely awful, some of the worst football ive seen us play. Nothing was coming off for us, we made simple passes look difficult.

Even Dawson made several mistakes.. But I agree with others, Huddlestone offered nothing, Hayden came on and at least TRIED to get us playing.

I'm waiting for the crap to stop this season. This may have been the worst, but it was coming, that was clear.

Maybe the heat got to Bruce. Fat people suffer more when it's 30°c in the shade.

    File under desperate excuses.

They worked Huddlestone out in the Premier league, now they are working him out in the Championship, his speed of thought, which always previously made up for his lack of thought, seems to have gone awol, he is dithering on the ball far too long. If he is our quarterback then he should be telling people in training what runs he wants them to make so that they all sing from the same song sheet ffs, all he does at the minute is slow the game down, either mispace the pass or get caught in possession. I feared this would happen, it isn`t exactly rocket science mind. I just cannot see any takers for him from the Premier League so lets hope he removes his head from his derrier and gets back to the standard he was when he arrived, perhaps he should grow his hair back, because ever since he got the fkr cut he has been shyte.

Bruce needs to speak to the players about urgency , conviction , and aplilcation, we had non of these today

Everyone including Bruce is too layed back , like its all ok we've got loads more games yet ... You can't bring that to your game or your management style

I think to some degree the players are trying to come to terms with playing games which unlike the EPL come thick and fast. Playing Sunday/Wednesday/Saturday, they are just not used to it.

We played ****e today but we still only lost to a goal in the eighth minute of injury time, away to a team still unbeaten.

It's hardly wet your knickers time.

That's bollocks. No one lacked commitment or urgency. They're just stock phrases for football fan after defeat. It was tactics today. We respected them way too much, got no one wide and no one forward.

His speed of thought, which previously made up for his lack of thought?

Maybe you would like to rewrite that? Maybe change the second thought to pace?
