21 shots, 7 on target. I think we've probably had the most attempts this season! Shame we get no luck. I'm gunna start making a list of GK who have sensational games against us.
Gutted. Enough chances to win about 5 games! We played so well second half! It sounds mad to say, but we should be on 9 points tonight.
How did Jerone not score today? And Hoolahan and Johnson etc etc. worrying times if we can't put the ball in the back of the net!! Although there are many positives to take, we need to be much more clinical in front of goal. I won't get carried away from that performance when we can't score one on ones and clear cut opportunities. Very disappointed!! By the way, anyone who can't get to the games has to get an M8 streaming box.
Four points from three games is perfectly respectable, but you've got to say that we could have been on seven or nine... My ratings, let me know your thoughts: Ruddy - 4 - didn't have much to do and not at fault for the goal, but there were a couple of horror shows from him one of which should probably have lead to a Stoke goal after he passed it straight on the floor to ?Afellay Whittaker - 4 - thought he really struggled today, time and again he was skinned or caught on the ball. Still looked good going forward and a couple of nice deliveries, but we need to see more from him Brady - 6 - guilty of giving away the free kick that lead to their goal with a handball because he was caught out of position, and caught out a couple of times elsewhere, but rapid enough to cover for his mistakes and I thought his delivery was massively improved today with some very nice dead balls Bassong - 5 - dallied on the ball a couple of times and nearly got caught out, but improved as the game went on Martin - 6 - struggled a bit with Diouf's strength at times, but then he probably always will. I thought he covered well, offered real dynamism from the back and his goal was really very well taken Tettey - 4 - definitely at fault for the goal and looked in danger of giving away a yellow card from about minute 3. Got better as the game wore on, so maybe the mark is a bit harsh, but that's because of the goal Dorrans - 7 - thought this was his best game this season, was incredibly unlucky not to get a goal and was a creative outlet with crisp passing Howson - 5 - very quiet at first and I felt he struggled out wide. Improved in the second half when he moved into the middle, with one trademark shimmy and run which reminded me of the goal he scored against Man City a few seasons back (only this time it was blocked) Redmond - 6 - looked dangerous at times and worked hard, but I felt he needed to stop trying quite so hard to score from range. Very unlucky not to get a goal and chalked up an assist I think with a header (!) Hoolahan - 5 - I thought he was well contained by Stoke, but still looked good on the ball and offered a threat. Caught out trying to hold onto it too long as he tired and was rightly substituted Jerome - 6 - very hardworking performance from him and incredibly unlucky not to score a goal (or even two) with another bicycle kick. Ran a few great lines but I felt he drifted out wide a bit too often and lost a link with the midfielders at times (but might have been just as much their fault) Johnson - 6 - great cameo, I felt he really offered a threat from set pieces as Stoke had not done their homework and Brady was pin point, but he also found space out wide in a way that Howson hadn't. Very unlucky not to get an assist or better. O'Neill - 5 - just scrapes into getting a mark because he contributed with a few nice passes and we were well in top for these final eight mins or so with injury time. MOTM Butland - 9 - by a country mile (although arguably shouldn't have been nutmegged)
Very stingy on the scoring for a game we bossed and should have won. Think I would have given 7's to Martin, Brady and Howson. Probably Jerome as well, wasted a lot, but was a constant threat and worked hard in that heat.
I would probably have given Brady a 7 but that might be splitting hairs. I thought he was far more of a threat today with his crosses and din't really notice him put a foot wrong other than the silly handball. Was disappointed to a degree with Redmond. Didn't think he got anywhere near involved enough, though when he did he was a menace to the Stoke defence. Agree that Dorrans was probably our best player on the day.
Brady shew today what I was hoping we had signed. First game he's had where his set pieces and crossing looked very encouraging.
3 games, 3 good performances and Stoke are the best of the teams we've faced. Really impressed that Stoke were prepared to play for a draw and hope to nick one. 21 shots, 7 on target says it all. Stoke had 6 shots and their goal was the only one on target. Much of this is due to AN's organisation and preparation. Yes, we should have more points, but it's not bad being in 8th place tonight.
Disappointing not to get a win here but it's encouraging how we improved after a poor first half, we probably should have scored more but you have to give massive credit to Butland, he earned his team a point.
Possibly a little harsh, but my approach is that 5 is "satisfactory" and 8 or 9 means you've basically single-handedly affected the score AND performed at a high level throughout the match. Dorrans would have got an 8 if it wasn't for Butland IMO, which sounds harsh, but ultimately the goal wins matches. Howson was too quiet in the first half for me and caught on the ball a couple of times. Brady is clearly not an out-and-out LB because of positioning and I felt really struggled against Shaqiri - he did have an excellent game going forward so I'm very excited to see him in front of Olsson. Martin was probably the closest to a seven, so I'll agree with you there. I just wanted Dorrans to be the stand out player as I've been critical of him recently but I felt he answered that today! Mind you, nice to see us scoring goals and getting shots on target in the PL
Neil - 6.5 - game plan, team and tactics spot on but we are vulnerable from set pieces and I think he has to take some of that responsibility. Arguably I would have brought on Johnson 5-10 mins earlier shortly followed by Grabban, but we looked so much in control at about 60 mins so I think he probably had planned that, but didn't want to disrupt while we were on top and then it was sensible to bring on O'Neil
You don't need to buy one of those you can install XBMC or Kodi on pretty much anything then just add on the best streaming plug ins not much work with a bit of googling & cheaper than a dedicated box. If you're after a quick & easy solution these boxes are pretty good tho
Their goal was very weak we need to work on defending set pieces. A good performance against a good team but we need to be a lot more clinical in front of goal, convinced that we need to go out and get a forward
BBC headline: "Norwich fought back from an early deficit to claim a hard-earned point at home to Stoke" WTF? If anybody can admit to a 'hard earned point', it's Stoke - and Butland in particular. What a totally unjust - and crap headline!
Other headline: Norwich dominate but have to be content with Stoke City draw http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/aug/22/norwich-city-stoke-city-premier-league-match-report
