Happy for him, he did well there and isn't going to cut it here - also pleasing if the rumours about us rebuffing ALL approaches for young Kemen are to be believed, as it puts him one place closer to the first team and this kid looks immense.
Wish him all the best. He never got the chances he should have when he looked like he could have progressed and the moment was missed. He should do well again in Greece.
Shame for me I'd rather have kept him that Tiote. I think he had talent and was also physically capable of doing well in this league with the right guidance. McClaren has clearly fancied Anita from an early stage (who I'm yet to be convinced with physically). I'd imagine this is as much Abeid as us, he gave it a year, didn't really get a fair crack at times, and now needs to play football.
We may live to regret this, fee apparently only £1 m , despite the fact he has actually played in Champion League games and scored 10 goals in a part season in Greece. Carver never gave the lad a chance.
Abeid was a player who showed real promise in some of the games he played for us, while in others he seemed lost. In short, he's a player who I think COULD have developed into decent number 4 with good coaching and man management - and we haven't been the best club to maximise a player's potential for many years...
Hehe. Dunno, I thought Abeid looked decent when I saw him, he had some real good games last season. Man City in the cup?! But obviously he never did enough in training to stand out. Better he moves on and succeeds elsewhere then to rot on our bench.
