Just thinking about loans. Its euro 2016 at the end of this season and there's players like Loic Remy sat on their backsides who'll miss out if they don't get a move. We should consider this with our two remaining domestic loans. Remy would be a cracking signing.
I'm sure if our man Congerton has any sense that'll be part of his sales pitch. Agreed about Remy, reckon he'd be available on transfer as well.
Don't know why everyone is worrying - I have just been on our website and the big news is that there are Cash Turnstiles on Saturday
Thursday, 20th Aug 2015 19:14 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews) Not that long after AFC Bournemouth were interested in Jonathan De Guzman then reports have surfaced that Sunderland have made a loan offer for the former Swansea player who spent two years on loan here. It is reported by Italian broadcaster Sky Italia, the Black Cats have contacted Napoli with an offer to loan De Guzman for the season, with an obligation to buy, likely to be dependent upon a number of performance related factors. Sunderland have of course had a dreadful start to the season and are likely to be on the hunt for new players ahead of the transfer window closing particularly as they are under pressure to do so by their unimpressed fanbase. Ironically the Swans have the chance on Saturday to heap more misery on them when the two sides meet at the Stadium of Light with any deal for De Guzman unlikely to be completed before that particular game. De Guzman is reported to be keen on a move back to the Premier League and we know all too well that he can fit in at this level given his two excellent seasons with us. Good stuff - from a reliable source, old bean? let's just hope this one gets through the medical in time to face Swansea!

Translated from French by Bing Agreement between #Sunderland #Napoli for a loan with option of automatic purchase of Jonathan de Guzman. Tomorrow sale with the player. #RMCsport
Will he be available for the game tomorrow? I'd guess that's too soon for paperwork etc (if it comes off today)
Lets hope this is the first of a few. Can't say this one overly excites me but maybe the lad will prove me wrong.
Maybe this is what we need someone that doesn't excite us too much so not as much pressure on him to perform. I think he's a great player scores creates can pick a pass and takes a free kick. He will be great for Defoe imo and a 4 2 3 1 formation. Let's hope it happens.
He's a lot like Ki - in that he turns up for a few games then goes missing from what I remember - obvious quality - having him on loan with the obligatory buy out might ensure that we get a very good season out of him - far less risky and, as someone else said, no transfer money spent
Another loan with a obligatory buy out clause... At least he.s not S American. Now for a few more incoming please.
Hey lads, just thought id pop by to give my take on De Guzman. His popularity with the fans was very much split. I was one of the ones who was pro De Guzman though so you're best off hearing from me! His natural position would be as an attacking midfielder, but we only ever really used him as a central midfielder, simply because Michu was unstoppable for us at the time, and also because we inexplicably loaned you guys Ki, so left ourselves with little options in the middle. De Guzman is most effective when he has time on the ball. He is very forward thinking and his dead ball ability is exceptional (Check out his goal away to Valencia). He can really make a keeper work from almost anywhere in the opponents half and links up very well with the striker. The reason he split fans down the Liberty is because he never puts a foot in. Now, as an attacking midfielder, you can maybe overlook that because he is mainly there to contribute to the attack, not defence. But we played him at CM. He never tracks back (or maybe jogs back from time to time) and he will very rarely attempt a tackle. He is quite small and he gets out muscled quite easily, so don't expect him to hold the ball up. The reason I liked him is because when he was good, he was class. If he didn't have his negatives, then he wouldn't be playing for Swansea/Sunderland, he would be at a top 4 team. The best way to play against De Guzman is to simply mark him. With him playing in a more advanced role for you guys there is a higher chance of that happening so he and your squad will have to work out ways for him to collect the ball with plenty of space. Not just lump it up to him as that wont work. I think he will definitely add that creative spark that you guys need and will do well. All the best after Saturday
Hope this comes off. Good player. And by what Swans-m has just said just what we need. agree it doesnt overly excite but could be a very good player for us.
I'd imagine he'd be played further forward as we've got Catts &M'Vila to play the deeper role plus Rodwell & Larsson as back up. I really hope this happens.
Did you read what I said? I didn't simply say "he's a lot like Ki" I said "in that he doesn't always turn up" i.e. Ki doesn't turn up every week and neither does De Guzman - they both go missing in games where they don;t fancy it - whether he'd make your bench or not is totally irrelevant to your argument - besides I reckon you've not seen him play for quite some time so you can only give an opinion from the time he played for you
