Mud slinging and name calling? What the hell is your problem? <laugh>

Seriously though, plenty of people have said that McNally and the board should be relied on to do the best for us in this window, I get that.

Those people though, shouldn't have a go at the fans who are looking to be wowed by a signing. It's human nature. Who cares whether we can afford them?

    The realists v the romantics.

Reading some of the OTT replies to my posts simply reminded me why I lost interest in posting on here in the first place. I don't care if you don't like what I post but I won't pussy-foot around certain posters who either dislike my tone or don't possess the ability to form a coherent argument as to why I could be wrong.

Do you honestly believe I don't dream too? Of course I dream about a Shaqiri joining Norwich. But I also know enough about the club to understand that we aren't in a position to compete for players like that. Reality is all that matters in football transfers - you don't get points for crazy rumours.

Two summers ago when we were linked to Quagliarela I was stunned! This was a gifted player - he'd have been the best player we'd had in my lifetime. The saga rattled on for weeks, months even. And then it was over. Nada. He wasn't coming. I was gutted. My hopes had been dashed.

I later found out we hadn't even made a bid for him. We'd made a tentative enquiry which had very abruptly been quashed by player/agent. He was never coming here. I felt disappointed and a little stupid for believing the press.

So sure, dream away. But don't get all arsey when I say the club will be more realistic. We are paupers in this league. We've done ok for ourselves. All I argued against was the assertion the window had been 'rubbish', not because of who we'd actually signed but because fans wanted juicier gossip to discuss over a pint in a pub. Isn't that a bit pathetic?

Perhaps I shouldn't have been surprised by the 'rubbish' I had thrown at me in the aftermath. It's just another typical football forum where people take things too seriously. I was definitely right - some people do need to get out more.

Seriously, who really gives a ****- it's just a bunch over massively overpaid blokes kicking a football around. But the psychology of the posters on here is far more interesting- I get angry reading players are on more than 5k a week, assuming a 10yr career on that wage 2.6 million earned and given it comes in huge dollops, ripe for investing to make loads more. That amount is more than double someone working for the average salary over 40 years. Having written that and read it back, I think it's time to start a campaign for everyone to stop buying Sky and BT sport-

Oh ffs I've already explained this is exactly not why I called it rubbish. What an unnecessary post, given you clearly chose not to read mine, but assume what the response was out of some knee-jerk reactionary assumption that you were the victim.

This is after all a forum and people are free to post whatever they like and other posters shouldn't get so uptight that other posters don't agree with their point of view. Supers makes a very good point in that we'd all love to see a stellar signing, but let's get real and it's unlikely to happen with McNally in charge - can you imagine where we'd be if Doomcaster was still our Chief Exec????
IMO, if we can play most of our games in a similar style to how we have played in our opening two games, then I can see us doing quite well with our current squad, especially when you consider the players who are currently out injured. At least we've started to play from kick off and not woken up after 10-15 minutes when we're already a goal behind!!!!

Sorry Rob but you're playing the victim here, Supers was attacked much more vehemently by one or two others rather than you. I'm sure that's who he was referring to! <ok>

Ok, fair point, but it was me that stated the transfer window was "rubbish" in the first place and got jumped on by Superman who assumed I meant something I didnt.

*Sigh*...on topic. Josh Murphy season long loan in the Championship to MK Dons? Good move in terms of club, league and manager. Shame he won't be at least on our bench this season, if true. :(

Very good move if he can play regularly, I agree.

I don't think the Murphys are up to PL standard (yet) so there's no point him benching here when he could be learning

Good move for the lad - in truth he'll see very little action with us this year - a brief cameo at Rotherham perhaps as we make our usual early exit from the League Cup but with bench space keenly contested I doubt if Josh, or any of the other younger players will feature there much,

Good luck at MK Dons Josh

I agree this is a key season for the Murphys. If we stay in the premier league then they need to get better if they want to remain Norwich players.

Nothing against them and I hope they improve & stay.

Yea, agree with that, but with other teams giving young players a go (Gomez and Ibe at Liverpool, Galloway at Everton, taggett at Southampton) I was hoping he would get a few prem minutes under his belt again this season. I hope loaning out the two Murphys out, doesn't mean there's truth that we are in for that Forrest winger. Coz we don't need to spend on midfield.

Haha!! Ah! I thought of him of a target who would be someone who would be class for us the other week. Then thought: ah, no we won't get him, he's an ex-scumer.

"But the opening offer was turned down flat"

    Must be legit! <laugh>

Murphy moving to MK Dons makes a lot of sense, good luck to him. If he can impress in the championship, he'll be in serious contention for our squad next season. Weren't MK interested in Toffolo too? Perhaps they can develop a left side we can use for 10 years.

David McNally doing his usual offensively low bid to sound them out on if a players available. Good 'ol boy! 1.5 is very low for him.

I don't want to get into a row with you again Rob (seriously, I really don't!!) but I have to say I find this post rather ironic, particularly the second sentence which could easily be lifted word for word to be Supers response back again to you.

(This next bit isn't aimed solely at you Rob, or anyone in particular, it's to all of us so please don't get defensive, I think it makes perfect sense)

Can we all just chill the duck out please? Ferrcrisakes we've just enjoyed one of the best and most enoyable seasons in my lifetime (if not ever), we have a fantastic manager that everyone has bought into and worships as the Messiah, we have arguably the strongest squad we've ever had, more internationals amongst the ranks than at any point in our history, strengthened this squad already this summer with some very astute signings of Premier League quality, we've just had a cracking away win to get us off the mark after being robbed in our first game which we could easily have ended up winning - and despite getting nothing form it looking at the table we currently sit above Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs.

And yet STILL some folk aren't happy and will enter September "disappointed" if we don't go out and splash millions more on players who we have no idea whether they will actually improve our squad or not. Honestly, some of the stuff I read sometimes does beggar belief, and I know I myself have a tendency to go off on a rant more than most (exhibit Q right here before your very eyes) but I'm sorry, I have to say some of the things I read on here sometimes are just so plain ridiculous and detatched from reality I honestly wonder if some people have any idea what they are actually talking about.

And yet Supers is apparently the bad guy in all this?? Unbelievable, honestly I think his suggestion that some folk should get out more is possibly the best advice I've seen on here in yonks, and whilst some of you will be thinking "good riddance" should he (quite reasonably) decide to stop posting on here, I can assure you it would be a far inferior experience for people (like myself, I hope) who actually have a sense of reality and don't want to see this forum turn into the PinkUn.

Rant over, I'll stick the CPL thread up in a minute
