LEAGUES COMP. Overview, Rules and WEEK ONE. SATURDAY.

Many moons ago, as some may recall, I devised the above competition, which with the help of Hawkeye, ran for about two years. I've been giving it a bit of thought of late and have decided to give it another run, if anyone is interested. I can't see it running as long as last time, but hopefully I can manage a few months.

The Competition. The comp centres around a weekly promotion - relegation basis. In the first week, I'll split the participants, depending on how they went, into two divisions and again depending on the number of players, adjust the numbers to go up or down each week. If the comp grows as it did last time, a third division will probably be added pretty quickly.

It will be a Saturday competition where plenty will be moved each week, so hopefully everyone will get the chance to stand atop League 1 at some stage. (If memory serves, Stick hold the record at 5 weeks in a row.)

First week. Saturday August 22.

Rules.
It will operate on 5 win singles only, from any courses in the UK or Northern Ireland.
All non runners will be on the favourite, if equal favs, the horse with the lowest Racecard No.
All winning bets will be marked at tote odds.
In case of ties, a count back will apply based on the number of wins. If still tied the number of seconds. If still tied the number of thirds. If still tied the number of fourths etc. If still tied with all 5 selections, toss of a coin.

The number of leagues and the number of players in each league may be changed from time to time depending on the total number of entries. Normally 2 players will be relegated to the next lower league (if there is one) and 2 players will be promoted to the next higher league (if there is one). However the number of relegations and/or promotions may also be changed from time to time depending on the total number of entries. Promoted and relegated players will be indicated with a *

Newcomers welcome at any time and will join in in the lowest league
