Yep, plenty of great Chelsea players took time to show their best form. This whole "instant gratification" thing is crazy. Costa took off like a rocket, but he's one of the few. Hope Pedro and Bab are given real support by us all.

Cuadrado the latest example mate. It's clear he has talent from what we saw of him at the world cup but has a bad start here and we're already getting shot of him.

This signing probably ends Juan Cuadrado's Chelsea career, I assume. What a ****ing flop that buy was.

De Bruyne wasn't even given the chance to show what he can do!

I know what you mean but I think tha'ts slightly different. Mourinho has said De Bruyne asked to leave as he wanted to play every single game. We did also double our money on him, although he seems to be playing out of his skin since given the chance.

He was a good financial investment. I doubt you'll see a profit out of Cuadrado. He's probably a £15million player now and with Pedro arriving he won't get a sniff of the first team.

    Do Chelsea still own Salah?

We'll definitely lose money on Cuadrado. Hopefully we can use him in some sort of deal for a decent CM.

Yeah, but he's on loan at Roma at the moment. Be a struggle to make our money back on him unless he plays exceptionally at Roma.

Pretty sure Salah's option is 16M to buy after the loan, meaning we make some profit.

If they chose to keep him, not sure how he has been getting on over there,

Option to buy Salah if he does well at Roma. Even if he doesn't we will get back what we paid from someone.

Pedro is a good addition and adds more competition for places. Hopefully this will get us going a bit. Hoping he's alright to play at the weekend, he should definitely be match fit!

    Completely agree mate. Sensible post.

Whole bedwetting thing when a player has a few bad games is pathetic.

How may times does that happen though. In general we have as a fan base supported many players that didn't have good times with us (Torres springs to mind). The problem is we are in a new climate now. Smaller squad and everyone is expected to perform to the best of their ability as soon as possible, hence why players like Cuadrado get less time before they are singled out. Every place in a team under Jose is valuable.

I am willing to give Cuadrado another season.
What I will say though is that his shortcomings don't appear to be anything that can be rectified by "adjusting" to the PL.
Unless he takes steroids, puts on about 2 stone of muscle and learns how to not get thrown off the ball like a 4 year old made of paper, then he is in for a tough time.

At the end of the day Juventus' interest seems to be genuine. Would happily crowd fund a taxi for him to get over there so he can get back to his best with them - don't see it happening with us. If he stays though I will back him.

Yeah I would be willing to give him longer I suppose.
Half a season isn't long enough, the thing to remember though is that most players that go on to be good, have "meh!" first seasons, where they are average.
Cuadrado was particularly BAD! He needs to get more physical like NOW.
I will give him this season, or at least until Christmas, if we keep him, before I completely forsake him though, half a season is not long enough to judge.

The similarity would be Ramires' first season with us, but by the end of the season he was already a different player and the next season (CL winning season for those who don't remember) was great all round from him. One of our most valuable players. Cuadrado has really shown nothing though which is a great shame.

He could easily be utlised as an attacking RB, a position that he had plenty of experience in before. He needs to show his ability when given the chance. He played against Everton, Burnley and Sunderland last year from the start and did nothing. Not exactly inspiring for us fans or the management.

In my opinion every player needs at least a season to prove themselves. Only way I'd like to see Cuadrado go is if we make a profit or he's used to bring in a much better player that we need.
