I don't understand this ongoing obsession with the need for a "top class CM". We've had the best defence in the league sine last November and have conceded one goal so far this season, which we scored!

We do need a striker though.

    Muller will do.

But that would mean dropping Rooney.

    Which isn't going to happen.

I wonder what Ed makes of it all.

Ed likes monkeys. Monkeys are funny.

Ed also likes Buckaroo. Though it scares him a little every time it bucks and a bit of wee comes out.

    Poor lad.

As I said on the other thread about Woodward, I think the problem is there's been very little strategic planning for these transfers. That doesn't start on July 1st ffs, it's something you expect your Chief Exec to be working on with the manager and scouting system THROUGHOUT the season.

Instead we've had minimal targets identified. Woodward comes across completely like a Florentino Perez wannabe trying to build a galacticos. He is a plastic pure and simple. He reacts to events rather than dictate.

Think about this a second.... Woodward flew out to Barcelona and came back cap in hand. Mourhino made a phone call. We used to laugh at others when Fergie did this ffs.

I see your point, a phone call is quicker it's genius just ring the player and ask him if he fancies popping over for a medical. You have just changed the face of football transfers.

Yes a Barca and United reject.

To be fair, London's Biggest Pedro Hater stated earlier today that he doesn't rate Pedro.

What about all the good players he hasn't bought: all much better than those 'stars'?

Just an attempt by us to put out some positive spin after another abject transfer failure.Do you think the club would publicly admit that Woodward fu@*ed it up - he'd be an even bigger laughing stock than he already is

You didn't want Hazard at the time. You said Kagawa Powa was superior

It goes beyond incompetence if they had ****ed up a transfer at the last minute because of haggling over a couple of millions. I think in this case it is more believable that LVG had a change of heart.

All this nonsense shows how Fergie's reputation provided the club with an advantage over others on transfers.

Certainly better than changing your mind after signing them... ala Valdez. #progress

When you look at the list of amateur fck ups over the summer by Utd, this really is the cherry on top.

Maybe Woody AND LVG are the problem.. I quote BBF: "Another United target down the drain <laugh>

City just nabbed the Valencia defender too, add those to Ramos and Ronaldo not going anywhere and the few Germans that told vG to **** off bar one in the twilight of his career, who earns far more at United now than when he was at his best with Bayern :D

LvG must be an epic **** to work for"

If Man Utd want them stars, they've got the muscle to do so. However, some players might, just be unavailable to buy. If I was you, I'd be more concerned about chasing Stones for £40 million <laugh>

Could it have something to do with Depay's blistering performance out wide last night?
