It seems Clucas Hayden and the boy David all picked up knocks at Wolves. Hopefully all three are fit. I really want to drop Mcgregor, guaranteed if Eddie the cat Blackburn, Jeff Wealands, Bo, Tony Norman, Vito, Guzan, Stockdale etc were vying with him. But i cant name Jak as his replacement. Meyler starts if fit. Not sure Clucas keeps his place if fit. Aluko maybe? Glad to see Curtis Davies something like he was over a year ago. I'd put Elmo to RB and Odubajo to RM. Elmo loves making long lung bursting runs, Oddy can tuck in and let him. Mcgregor Elmo Dawson Davies Robertson Dave Meyler Scroggins Aluko Jelavic Chubby We certainly need to be on the front foot from the start. Poncey lightweight southern softies coming oop North on a Wednesday night!!! They wont fancy it. Into em. We started slowly against Wolves. Cant afford to do that. Early goal and we'll beat these easily. 3-0.
Missing the game unfortunately as away on holiday. Would be nice for Hernandez to get a run out and see where we are with him, but can't see Bruce making too many changes.
Definitely replace Hayden with Meyler who actually got in a good position twice to score in the last 15 minutes. Also Aluko is looking sharp and needs a full game in for Clucas who limped off and needs a rest. Odubajo/Elmo might be a good switch as Elmo had a poor game at RWB, but O needs to improve his crossing. Bring Hernandez in for Jelavic at least to shop window him and he's raring to go, whereas Jelly looks disinterested and pissed off with his teammates. Hate the thought of McGregor in goal but Bruce will probably stick with him. I watched the full Wolves game again on TigerPlayer last night and they replayed Wolves nearly first minute goal several times and what stood out for me was how blatantly McG chickened out on Clucas awful back pass which led to Afobes breaking in on him. He actually SLID AWAY from the ball, diving to his left and just getting a toe on it as opposed to diving to his right to get his full body on it. McGregor's problem is that since his severe injury at West Ham he's afraid of contact, hence his persistent fumbles and "eye-off-the-ball" miscatch on Sunday. If Gray has gone at least buy Bentley from Southend for under 2 mill. while he's still available.
Overly critical about Smackhead there, one on ones are like penalties, you just have to guess which way they're going. Did well to get a toe on it.
Meyler in for Hayden, and why employ Jakupovic as a goalie at all if he can't take the gloves when needed, play him he can't do worse than chucking one in
There was a decent comment from 'Tigergirl?' the other day that Mcgregor has not been the same since Diame crunched him, we need two new keepers
Couldn't agree more Bo. As I pointed out in my post above he's been contact shy since that injury. Any GK who is afraid to put his body on the line isn't worth keeping. Billy Bly must be turning in his grave.
I think Greggs should start, it was a one-off schoolboy error and it won't happen again - we know he isn't 100%, but our money doesn't buy 100%, nobodies does - I think we should give him a chance to make up for it. Totally agree with Chazz's switch of Elmo and Odubajo, I think it will get the best from the pairing but not from them individually; Elmo worries me at RB, so moving to RW eliminates that and we know he can cross and run all day, But Odubajo will want to push forward, but he he defend as he should - I think Odubajo looks like a decent player, but I would have have much rather had a fit Rosenior in the RB role. Stick with Jelly and Okpom, it was handbags from both, a bit of passion and bonding emoticon-0115-inlov), they were starting to link well. Bring Hernandez on when their early season legs are feeling it. A spot on OP for me.
Y or y! Ten times a night. I'll try Bruce's new tactics board on this post but he has sussed his options they were always so obvious please log in to view this image
I like this line up. But who the **** is Dave? I would also prefer Jak or McG in goal. But none of them inspire confidence.
