Following on from Micky Grays rant: I agree and I am sick of all this ****e. Its time to spend some money and make a few statements, if nothing else it would get the fans back on side. I added Pato to the list, not because of anything other than fans would love a player like that at the club. Lets face it he cannot be any worse that what we have and he is on fire in South America at the moment. Austin 15m plus 80k a week to get him up here Pato 5m plus about 30k a week Borini 3m for the season plus 40k a week Alonso 5m plus about 35k a week Van Dijk 8m plus 35k a week So: 36m not even the 50m supposedly promised Wages: £220k a week or £11.5m so lets add in another 10m or fee's and bonuses We're talking 56.5m for a year. If we get relegated its going to cost the club a hell of a lot more than that. Its time to take a calculated risk and do it NOW, otherwise we will be in Div 1 before we know it. I don't exaggerate we could easily end up getting relegated again. Its obvious what we need, Its obvious what we now have to do, no one wants to come here so we need to offer some silly money. The fans are going to have to suck it up and realise we have to pay a premium because no one wants to come to **** Sunderland who are likely to get relegated.
We've lost our way a bit again probably because of the new defensive set up and two similar styles in Catts and MVila; far rather we do it now than at the end of the season. It can be put right without the need for panic buys and with only two games played there is sufficient time to turn it round.
cant disagree with above comments, my concern is that if we don't get the players that Dick obviously wants will he walk? If he does who in their right mind would want to come to a club that doesn't look like they invest in players and more concerning is what the **** is going on behind the scenes that no-one seems to be able to fix?
Spot on mate, it's time to stand up and be counted for Mr Short. He either digs deep and brings in some quality now, or we limp through till January by which time it will probably too late. From your list i'd have Van Dijk and Alonso and maybe Borini on loan. Not convinced about Austin, i reckon he's another Fletcher in the making.
Inter Milan have entered the race for Sunderland target Fabio Borini, with the Italian giants ready to meet Liverpool’s asking price for the striker.
Exactly, I don't think any of my suggestions are panic buys, Borini and Alonso have prreviously been at the Well thats that one done. We are pissing around trying to do a loan and Inter come along and offer the asking price. I bet we panic buy Rhoads for silly money, its obvious to all he is not what we need. We will get relegated and he will have his career ruined.
there is some sense in buying Rhodes.............................we'll need him in the championship next season.
I honestly don't think we will get any of these players, even if we tried, maybe with the exception of Borini, who on his own just wont be good enough.
If we tried hard we would. So if we offered Austin 300k a week he would not come? I know thats far fetched but what I am saying is if you offer enough money you can get the players. We are Sunderland not a London club, we are also bottom of the league and look terrible. To attract any player now we will have to pay ridiculous money. We only have ourselves to blame for this. But if you think the price we have to pay is high now, wait to see how much it will cost us in January when we are bottom of the league. Act now or it is going to be a financial disaster for the club. This is the tipping point and we are on the edge of ruin for this club. It will cost Short in the region of 60m to make 80m. Its is a gamble but not as big a gamble as not spending the money.
To be honest the way I'm feeling now that wouldn't be such a bad thing. Supporting SAFC takes far too much anguish and disappointment. It gets me down. It shouldn't! Its not ****ing important really. But my stupid brain keeps putting it too close to the forefront of my mind, ahead of more important things in life. Sunderland going under for me would be like putting a loving but seriously ill family pet down. Devastating at the time and going through periods of nostalgia and reminiscing over once having a team to support, but knowing that for my own mental health, better in the long run!
I've seen them relegated so many times now mate! I almost take it for granted that anytime we're in the PL, its just a matter of time before we hand the keys back in. It shouldn't be that way but thats just the way it is. If it happens, well, no one died and there's always tomorrow. Would have loved to have been around during the Millionaire Club days, like Nostalgic and Relic but you play the hand your dealt.
Well lets see just how true those Adnan Januzaj rumours were... Pedro has agreed personal terms with Manchester United ahead of a proposed move from Barcelona, according to Guillem Balague. The 28-year-old Spain international is believed to have made his mind up over a move to Old Trafford, despite interest from Manchester City. Pedro is still waiting for the clubs to agree on a transfer fee, and it is understood Barcelona will not budge from the £21.2m release clause that is written into the player's contract.
Premier League side Sunderland are plotting a move to sign Che Adams of Sheffield United, HITC Sport understands. HITC sources close to the situation understand Sunderland are sending scouts to Sheffield United's game tonight away at Peterborough United, and are keen on signing him before the transfer window closes. Adams has had an excellent start to the season but has just one year remaining on his Sheffield United contract and is yet to be offered an extension. He netted a brace in the Blades' 2-0 win over Chesterfield at the weekend, and is offering the club hope despite their recent sale of prolific winger Jamie Murphy to Championship side Brighton. Adams scored against Tottenham in the Capital One Cup last season, and versus Newcastle United in pre-season, and at just 19-years-old is a player with outstanding potential. Sheffield United signed Adams from non-league side Ilkeston Town just a year ago. Adams was a player on Sunderland's radar back then, as reported the Hartlepool Mail, and they have been tracking his progress since. The Black Cats have endured a terrible start to the Premier League season, and while promising attacker Che Adams won't fix their leaky defence, he could provide a real spark at the opposite end of the pitch
For me i would go for. Alonso 3m Sow 8-9m Cana Free or Zoma on loan if Chelsea get Stones Moses 7-8m or loan I just hope we have funds. If we don't get anyone before the window closes it will be devastating
Should have taken a punt on Ravel Morrison, for nothing. Lazio fans love the kid already and he's only played pre-season. He just needs good guidance.
Them would be nice but even apart from those. can you see us Getting any of the ones we are supposedly liked with
I don't know mate. What a difference a few weeks makes from supposedly 50m to spend to we have nothing left. I just hope we do something before the window shuts. This is make or break 3 / 4 players could be the difference between playing in the premier league or playing in the championship.
