Have to agree with Jimmy and a few others. Lallana is getting on the team sheet because he's the new Allen. He's good at getting the ball. And retaining it with neat turns and all. But 9/10 he will run with it diagonally to pass it to the wings, instead of using those dribbling skills to go through the centre. Then a **** cross to a solitary Benteke and the move breaks down.

I read someone say he's been told to focus on being solid. FFS. Our academy players focus on being solid. The first team during a league match is not the place for you to be focusing on the basics. If you can't contribute then don't play. And he certainly didn't contribute.

I like Lallana in spells. But until he steps up and stops wasting his and our time, he shouldn't be in the squad, 25m or not.

Ibe was poor yesterday, lost the ball a lot with tunnel vision and refusing to pass intelligently. He wants to beat his man every time and Bournemouth quickly shut that down. He didn't change his tactics all game. Naive but not the end of the world.

Lovren hardly fills me with confidence.

Gomez didn't look as solid as he did previously. Perhaps a game or two rest would be good, get Moreno some minutes.

    ------------------Mignolet--------------------
    -Clyne--Sakho-----Skrtel--Moreno-
    ----------------------Can-----------------------
    ------Henderson-------Milner-----------
    -----------------Coutinho--------------------
    -------Ings/Origi-------Benteke---------

That would be my squad for Arsenal, with maybe Gomez in for Moreno if he's focused in training.

Well said. It feels like we have lowered levels to the point where simply not f*cking up, is considered a good performance.

    Give it up mate.

Even the most blind biased supporters amongst us could see that the "goal" they scored would have been given on many occasions especially to the home team. Lovren exagerrated the contact.

As for our goal, it was clear offside and was never a goal. Coutinho was miles offside and he turned round and attempted to play the ball, which under the new rules puts him in an offisde position.

The smaller club was robbed. True description for once.

Just because it doesn't get noticed most of the time doesn't make it right.
Climbing on an opponent, or impeding their climb is a foul-plain and simple. The fact that it happens a lot and people get away with it doesn't stop it being a foul.
Would you have the ref turn a blind eye to a foul because he knows it often goes unpunished?
Neither goal should have stood. The officials got one decision right, and the other horribly wrong.

Problem is they were not robbed.

We missed a freaking shed load of chances with Benteke and coutinho being most guilty.

We also just chose to dig in with our subs so .....

1-0 superficially looks like they were robbed but in reality they didn't actually create much given all their industry

Reality check for bournemouth... if you don't create and score at this level you go like burnley.

But all the best I loved your effort, skills and philosophy.

Exactly. Plus they were dirty ****ers and if Gomez's yellow was the consistent standard they'd have finished with 9 men.

And the #outraged would also have you believe it was a trivial save for Benteke's shot except the keeper was put off by Coutinho.

It would have been save of the season.

Even if we accept your views about the goals, we would still have no goals given and that would mean a point for the smaller club. So you do accept that there was robbery but only dispute its size i.e a point rather than 3.

nah... they were not dirty... stoke were tougher.

the ref waved a few needful cards randomly to get his numbers

benteke shoudl have had his brace and its just be a shrug.

in any event bournemouth will have a lot of harder days than we gave them.

Well, you can't predict outcomes in such a simplistic way. There's no way of knowing how the game would have changed if we'd have been chasing it. It is what it is.
Robbery seems a little emotive. A bit unfair, yes- but football is full of such things. Sometimes we lose out, this time we benefited. I'll take it because I know there'll be times when we're on the wrong end of some poor decisions, and after a bit of whingeing we have to accept that mistakes are made and get on with it.

Ignore the foul for a moment - it was still poor defending which could and should have cost us. <ok>

If Lovren was allowed to jump he may have headed it away so not really poor defending.

Rooney, in the English Barclays Premier League, has scored no goals this season, and registered no assists. He has a shot accuracy of 0%.

    Ouch. Is Rooney finished? #nojinx

    Exactly.

Lovren wins that header every time if not fouled.
