Or a good fight? I'm glad they got pelted though...fancy trying that **** in Liverpool anyway if we had to send all our immigrants back there would only be about 8 of us left in the whole city
Correct, thats why if they are preaching hate then the people should be prosecuted and the march banned.
It's a fine line though eh. As they can claim that their white man march isn't about opposing other ethnic groups but about promoting the rights of their own. Thus it gets sanctioned, when the reality is that they're nothing more than facists, seeking to create trouble and stir up hate. Odd choice of venue like, but then again, they are ****ing thick.
Chances are the chaos would only have been caused by any clash with the "anti" protestors as the others know they would have police watching their every move and would have been nabbed for the slightest offence. Lets be honest many of the antis are now the same type of moronic thugs you talk about. This was a small scale march that would have its views ridiculed, whereas now its a cause for other eejits to join.
What's funny is that there are several white supremacists who have had public DNA tests done that turned out to show they had "ethnic" ancestors who were not white. No one is pure white if you go back 17+ generations. Mankind whereas not as mobile as it is now, has always had movement. http://www.liberalamerica.org/2015/07/24/white-supremacist-finds-out-his-ancestors-were-black/
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Depends on how warped your thinking is I suppose. I live in NW London and we had some bunch of lunatics organisng an "anti jewification" march in Golders Green the other month. Nice bunch - the fliers said it would be a gas FFS... If you refuse to allow it you make them the victims . Fair play to the people of Liverpool if you ask me.
No the chaos was planned as they openly admitted. Targetting Liverpool was deliberate because of its ethnic mix. Freedom of speech is not an automatic right (IMO) when that speech involves spreading hatred and intolerance and attempting to divide a city through racial intolerance. There are plenty of platforms these people can air their views but the streets of one of the most culturally diverse places in England isn't one of them. Having fascists moaning about removing their "freedom of speech" should raise a smile anyway don't you think? Fair to say where I live mate this won't act as any sort of "rallying cry" for the neo-nazi's. There's not much sympathy for them round these parts and for that I'm very proud of the good folk of Liverpool for giving them a jackboot up the arse and a one way ticket back to the holes they crept out from
Ahh Free speech. not allowed to say "I like ISIS" but are allowed to pollute society with bigotry and racism.
They wouldn't have caused much chaos without the antis there, and agree about the spreading hatred and that is why we need to use a legal response for this. Who admitted their plan was to cause chaos?
Here's a few posts from their (rather vile) twitter page: "No More ****ing Around: this weekend we will take drastic action. #WMM #NationalAction" "No amount of Antifascist terror will prevent us from marching on August 15th. If you seek violence, you can be sure you'll find it. #WMM" "Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Liverpools ****cunt rumour mill hits 88mph" "In years to come, your grandchildren will speak this day and how NA made history. Prepare yourselves. #WMM" Fair to say thety aren't shy about saying they are up for a fight. Well then they got one. Let's be honest, they are a bunch of neanderthals coming up on the train for a scrap. They are already planning another visit btw "Old Scouse Proverb: Laughing Turns To Crying. Today was a warm up, every great victory involves several defeats. We'll be back. #Liverpool"
What do you think about civil liberties groups like Liberty saying that a ban on racist marches 'breaks free speech law' ?
Yes some of them do seem up for the fight but why give them one? let them dig their own graves rather than give neanderthals with opposing views a free license to commit violence against the nazis.
Not sure what free speech law they mean, but on the whole I agree, as long as it does not incite hatred or violence against others then they should be as free as anyone else to march.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 19 - Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.
knew some of those but not article 19, surely still holds that if they are inciting violence or hatred then its a criminal offence. Also liberty pick and choose who they will support eg they will not stand up for the rights of people who question aspects of the holocaust.
I'm not part of any anti-fascists movement and didn't partake in the throwing of water bottles or food at the nazis, i protested along with hundreds of other locals at the threats made by the ****ers. If they've got(or claim to have)the right to march through the city causing **** I've got the right to protest, apparently they're planning another march in town because they're determined to show they won't be humiliated again. #bringitonboys
Who could argue with that as long as the antis dont incite violence or hatred themselves. PS would they be so determined to come back if their 30 person march had happened and their views exposed for what they are?
