The best away day for me would be going to Old Trafford and beating them 4-0. Then the same at the Emirates the Etihad etc It will happen one day.

Its great to stand on a terrace mind.

I foolishly thought that Huddlestone would be amazing playing in the Championship; that he would get more space, that his lack of pace wouldn't be so much of an issue, etc. After just two games I'm now in agreement with point 8. I'd choose Diame, Snodgrass, or Livermore ahead of him.

Good post but I'm afraid I don't agree with the points on Huddlestone, while he'll never be an energetic midfielder or one that particularly drives us forward, he's a calming influence in the centre of the park with probably the best passing range in this league. While I also rate Meyler, he wouldn't be a good enough replacement as he's a completely different type of player. Huddlestone, in my opinion, would be a huge loss.

Regarding the away game experience, I had some fantastic away days in League 2, but nothing topped being at the Emirates when we beat Arsenal. Who would have thought that possible when we were playing the likes of Lincoln every week? Anyone who says they would rather be in league 2 than the Premier League is a ****ing idiot. Surely you want to see your team be the best they can be.

Being at Northampton when we thumped them 5-1 was ace.

Being at Arsenal when we won 2-1 was ace.

Being at Liverpool when they cuffed is 1-6 was grim.

Losing at some Hicksville lower league ****e is grim.

    Sweeping generalisations are often unwise.

Losing 6-1 at Liverpool wasn't grim, we kept our humour all match. "We only need 6 more, com'n City score" and the rest.

Losing 5-1 at Everton was grim.

I'm glad it's not just me who thinks we should cash in on Huddlestone, potentially great player but potentially means exactly that, I'd take a lesser technical player like Quinn (thanks Mr Hat) to do his job, shame we let him go because the midfield won't get overrun by having a posh Brabin like Hudds in it anymore

I'd substitute the word calming for 'slow'

Is this a trick question? Actually a better word would be 'docile'. I did enjoy his failed shot yesterday, would have enjoyed it a lot more if it went in though

We didn't play Swansea away in our first PL season.

No. The person used calming in the original. So you are substituting slow for calming not calming for slow as that wasn't the word originally used.

I,am afraid Huddlestone's languid style is not what is required at this level, especially as he spends so much time that far back he isn't supplying telling balls to the front men.
It was noticeable at the weekend how much faster Swansea and Leicester, clubs we should have been competing with this season, are at moving the ball forward than we are. We have lots of tip, tapping about, sideways passes, backward passes but not many quick interchanges taking us forward.

That's how we should be in this ****ty league. We are the Manchester United of the championship. It's all about domination, patience and surgical picking apart of the enemy.
