anyone read much of this this morning? Some article has come out basically saying we've got f all £ to spend. How can there be any truth in this? We have a multi billionaire owner. Ffp isnt that strict/crippling that we are now solely reliant on loans surely after a meagre net spend of between £4m-£6m
If it is true then Dick has been blatantly lied to, I cant see their being any truth in it myself. However if it is then we surely are fooked.
Can`t see that being right somehow. If it was I think DA would have walked by now. The way Short pursued him (apparently) would suggest otherwise. I don`t think Ellis would allow himself to be portrayed in that light.
Am looking on newsnow - which collates every SAFC story in one site - and can find nothing of it at all so it'll be some rumour made up by a mag rag probably. We might not have much to spend - none of us know the ins and outs at the club and how we stand financially with ex players still being paid by the club etc. But I very much doubt that they know what we have to spend
That's why I said "I cant see any truth in it", Dick has been open and praised Short so it must be bollox.
I know. I was agreeing with you. I wonder whether Catts is at the back of it. PDC sussed him, sidelined him and was hoyed out. Now he`s just been given a 5 year contract. Don`t know where I`m going with this. Just a niggling thought.
Your owner has probably had enough of wasting his money. Im not being unpleasant here but in all seriousness since bruce you've squandered far too much.
About £4.5m nett spend per season for around 6 seasons it was - so whether you can or can;t believe it doesn;t matter - it's true
According to whom and this figure probably doesn't take into account anything other than buying players even in true. What you really need to look at is the clubs finances in general to decide whether theres any funds available. These people are running a business notva charity shop.
It's just a rumour that's come about from a **** article in the sun, just trying to sell a few newspapers no doubt. Having said that I'm not very confident that we'll be looking to splash the cash much at all, maybe a coupple of loans and a cheapo panic buy. Not basing that on anything in particular other than the general vibe from the club at the minute, I'm starting to really lose faith with those holding the purse strings at the club now
Sorry pops. I cant see it being Catts, you only had to see how much effort he put into his games last year and Poyet didn't want rid of him? As usual I may well be wrong but by **** I wish I was a fly buzzing round the training ground when that meeting took place.
It is just the reported transfer fees, the wages from the hangers-on at the club are what have us in a strange hold as far as I can see.
Last year of his contract. Now has another 5 years. Does it look like he gives a toss now? Not to me it doesn`t.
Hate to agree with this but I can't argue! Although 2 games is not enough time to form an opinion on anyone!
aside from our transfer budget there is something worryingly wrong within the camp. Whether we get any new faces by the end August, is neither here nor there till the dressing room is sorted out. Catts seemed to be pointing the finger at others in his MOTD interview. I think we could stay up if we signed nobody if the the spirit was there in the team.
The same thought most of us are having mate, hope to **** it isn't true but all signs point that way.
