Agree with OLM about swapping Elmo and Odubajo around. Elmo isn't a right midfielder and never will be. He is so much more effective as a full back who can link up with a right midfielder and overlap.

I expect it will be Jelavic and Akpom up front again with Hernandez given 30 minutes of so off the bench depending on how the game is going

Elmo needs space to run into (because he only has pace to beat his man) which he only gets when we play 3-5-2.

If the opposition do their job and close him down he's ineffective in a 4-4-2 whether he plays RB or RM

Same team as Wolves apart from Meyler in for Hayden.

UnAbel on the bench as well.

Fulham are nothing special so far and good to play them early.

We'll have to keep an eye on their playmaker central midfielder.

Tim or Tom Carney, Cairney or something...

A playmaker and goal scorer, if only we had someone like that.

I predict the same team with the only change being Meyler of Hayden.

Definitely Meyler in for Hayden. Also I'd expect Aluko in for Clucas on the left although it might leave Robertson short of cover, but Fulham are not much of an attacking threat and Davies covers across well. Big question mark will be McGregor. His confidence, and that of his defenders, must be shattered and Bruce might decide to risk Jakupovic again with Cairney firing in 25 yarders that McGregor has trouble with. Both are error prone though. We need to sign Bentley ASAP. He's available for under 2 mill.

Hernandez should play some part...bring him in for Jelavic after 60 minutes and see how he combines with Akpom. That could be a very good and speedy partnership given the right service from MF. Looks like Gray will be going to the Prem....we've missed that boat. Could be another Austin debacle...all for the sake of 500k apparently. Penny wise pound foolish Ehab.

Yes you are correct Canada, that 11m striker they have got sure is absolute dog tod and won't be much of an attacking threat... whats his name again Mack, Mick, Mickormick or something? :)

I'd play Odubajo on the wing with Elmo at right-back. For me, Odubajo offers a more direct attacking threat and isn't afraid of cutting inside on his left foot, either to shoot or play in the forwards. Elmo's great at beating his man and whipping in crosses but it can be predictable and one dimensional sometimes.

match day thread i put Elmo at RB. He's a 400 metre runner. He needs to come from deep and really stretches their LM LB.

I'm worried he's going thats the worst ive seen him play. Probably ever.

I think most would agree that Aluko and Meyler in for Hayden and Clucas would certainly strengthen the team.

That's not to put the young lads down.

I can't see a way Elmo and Odubajo can play in the same lineup, too similar. Maybe SB is assuming Elmo is for the off.

It probably is the worst he's played for us. He receives criticism for the defensive side of his game but he's better playing deep and pushing forward. He's a better wing-back than full-back but he's also a better full-back than winger.

I've got a feeling that we've seen the last of Huddleston's in which case:
    McGregor
    Odubajo Davies Dawson Robertson
    Elmo Hayden Meyler Clucas
    Jelavic Akpom

Sub's: Jak Maguire Bruce Aluko Hernandez Dixon Johaldo-Martin
