The media continue to misrepresent and condescend to Watford. The MotD presenters were most condescending in their comments ..about Deeney and Ighalo, and the Telegraph reporter completely misunderstood how our transfer system works and how much we have spent on players. Too lazy to do their homework? Too stuck on stereotypes? Long may it continue if it means we stay under the radar of the media.

The performance on Saturday was excellent in all departments. Solid defence, aggresive midfield, varied attack--some outstanding performances e.g from Prodl, Jurado, Nyom, Capoue, Ighalo. We looked at home at this level. Some players did seem to tire in the last 10 minutes and lost accuracy in passing and decision making. We can get better, and have no need to fear even the so-called "bigger" teams. With so many good players in the squad vying for a starting place, players will certainly not ease up on their efforts.

I took a Baggy supporting mate down to the game. He warned me that they would probably play a 6-2-2 formation and come for the draw - how right was he! He is a season ticket holder for years and also used to go to most away games, but he is boycotting away games (apart from the odd one ot two like this game) until Pulis is gone - seems he is not too popular with the faithful!
I thought we played excellent football but faded in the last 10 minutes and we should have brought Vydra on. Will be another good test against Soton on Sunday.

MOTD coverage did not seem to refect what I heard about the game... and the comments were quite poor too.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game ...thought all new players looked good / impressive .. The best 0.0 draw I have witnessed . Like the head coach . Great owners .
Feeling pozzotive about our chances of surviving / thriving during this season .
Watford football club is in fantastic shape ..... ( I wonder how QPR & Luton are doing ? can hardly be bothered viewing minor league football these day's ) .
    Come on you 'orn's .

    Yes Yorkie,
MOTD failed to show the Jurado free kick or Nyom's 80 yard burst & shot (I was really keen to see if it had gone a foot either way if it would have gone in) plus a number of other attacks including Abdi's late whipped in cross which Ighalo was a haircut away from

Standout moment for me was when we put three (yes three) players on the half way line when defending a corner, which almost resulted in a breakaway goal. A real sign of our attacking intentions and so different from MM's statistic based policy of having everyone back.

As FlittonHorn pointed out, Pulis was showing his ignorance... this is what it will be like every game thanks to the 1881. I stand by my comment. And anyone who brings a team to the Vic to grind out a bore draw and hopefully nick a win will be the subject of disdain and mockery from me. You should see some of the WBA boards...

I completely agree with the rest of your post, though I thought as much at the Everton game and it was confirmed on Saturday.

I think that was a deliberate ploy to weaken them at a set piece, something which is rated as one of their attacking strengths. But great to see though and naively they sent their big defenders back to counter it instead of midfielders and so did weaken them as an attacking force on the corner.

I'm sure they would prefer Irvine as manager!

Pulis gets results and will keep west brom in the league, while at least giving them some respect as a team but it does appear some of their fans moan about the football, yet did they moan when they beat Chelsea 3 nil last season?

Or would they rather be in the championship playing attractive football?

But good start so far by Watford, been impressed by how confident your team is, in fact all three promoted teams have come up with no fear, unlike in the past when teams get promoted and look relegated from the outset.

Maybe a bit like Big Sam?

    Very much a marmite manager.

I think their fans were disappointed they didn't attack us more but then he will say they still got a point..

The majority of the posts I've read slate the tedium of away trips with albion with those who went rather wishing they hadn't and those that stayed home pretty damned pleased too. Ditto the guys in the moon post match. I can understand setting up not to lose at, say, citeh but if established teams won't try to win on our patch... I expect Saints to at least make an effort to win on Sunday. They will come unstuck in the process of course

Is there an unknown at this stage of the season? Just how well can Deeney and Ighalo do in this higher league? It would be worthwhile to stop them scoring if they can make the step-up, but at this stage no one knows if they can.
