I thought cats was gonna break down and cry in his interview, so I agree take the captaincy of him, but not drop him.

As for kahboul/Coates before watching the pair of them the thought was underwhelming. O'shea is a must and have always thought this, have no idea about this beadling.

I'm one of O'Shea's biggest critics and he has been one of the problems over the last couple of seasons, however, at this point I do feel he needs to come back in for Coates if no one else is brought in this next week.

Personally though, I would go straight in for Jonny Evans this week. Bring him in as the long term replacement for O'Shea. At 17 he shored up our defence when we were leaking goals left, right and centre and rock bottom of the table. He will communicate a lot better than we currently have, will marshall the defence and we will still get a lot of years out of him. £7-8mil isnt too much to ask for our board to splash out on what will be a first team player for years to come.

Still think it,s tactics and a midfield we need! They aren,t good enough to link the rest of team together, we either buy more or have to go 4-5-1

I would go with O'Shea and Rodwell together at the back. Rodwell just isn't doing it in midfield. I think a spell at CB would do him good and O'Shea would initially keep him right. Can he do any worse there than what we have at the moment....

The answer may be yes to that one, he should be given a run out at CD in the u21's alongside Beadling if that route is to be taken, I would like a new face at left back Alonso would do me and move PVA forward, play Watmore on the other side and put Lens up the middle, it would be worth a try as the team are looking very poor in the current formation. For certain something must be done to arrest this slide.

The way Sunderland think wouldn't be cheaper bring back Len Ashurst at left back? He's probably in his seventies so the sign on fee would be pretty good....he would be under 2 million......lol
