This one is puzzling. Just where was the little Italian?

Can't find anywhere that he was injured or had off field problems. Not even on the bench, a bench that consisted of Bridcuut Graham, Rodwell and others.

A dispute with the gaffer, an offer come in, or he just wants out?

It's all confusing, when he doesn't even get in the squad, and the likes of Larsson does, (every game).

    So your theories.

I've got a feeling he's on his way out mate. I think if it was something that could have been explained then DA would have mentioned it.

It's very worrying that we are crying out for creativity and possibly letting him go, if the Defoe rumour is true as well, then it's probably goodnight Vienna!

He was on stage at the fanzone before the match. Kevin ball introduced him and wes brown, both said they were fit and wished they were playing!!!

He must be leaving you don't leave a player of that quality out of the side.

Either some club is sniffing about him or we are trying to get a message out that Bridcutt and Buckley are Premiership players to fool other clubs into thinking they should come in for them....or Dick is making a statement about how poor his squad is.

Why aren't we keeping him and giving him a go now that he's fit?

I hope he's not leaving - he's our best footballer IMO.

More importantly it'd mean I have to change my name :emoticon-0101-sadsm

I would have love to see Wickham and giacc play together. When Wickham had his great run it was giacc providing the assists. How he can't get in the team but Fletcher can angers me beyond belief!

    http://www.football-italia.net/71230/giaccherini-sunderland-rethink?

Emanuele Giaccherini “could decide his future within two days” and eyes a Sunderland exit, confirms his agent.

The creative midfielder managed only 11 games last season between the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup.

He had been adamant that he would not walk away from the Black Cats, but there has been a change of heart.

“We had a rethink on the situation that has been created in England,” confessed agent Furio Valcareggi on SportItalia.

“Time is limited and we’ll see what happens, but he is a top level figure who needs to play consistently after a season characterised by injuries.

“He lost all of last year and now cannot afford to lose another chance. This is the year leading up to Euro 2016 and he really wants to be there.

“Could he return to Italy? We’ll see, as anything could happen. He is certainly not lacking for offers.

“Taking part in the European Championship would be a triumph for Giaccherini, who still has a lot of respect within the Azzurri camp.

“He could decide his future within two days.”

Italy Coach Antonio Conte was famously furious when Juventus sold Giaccherini to Sunderland in 2013 for £5.25m.

I understand Dick wanting to get rid of players who don't suit his system, although if dick is only around for this season does that automatically mean his predecessor will adopt his philosophy? Would be sad to see this bloke go. Real shame..

Fletcher and Defoe got knocked over more times than the average bowling pin on Saturday! How weak do you have to be? Strength is a myth - balance and ability are what matter most - he has both - can place a pass on a sixpence! Not many others can
