This boils down to everything all of us have been saying for years now. No leadership, no experience or quality in midfield and now no spearhead to hold up the ball. And this has been the case for years. Seriously... Is the hierarchy at Spurs that blind?!
poch could have put on ali for dier. lamela is just featherweight, bring on one of the kids. walker is an accident waiting to happen. Inverted wingers , dembele on the right wing so he drifts inside and leaves the wing open. . levy doesn't pick the team or choose the tactics. I would agree levy is a putz who is going to see Spurs flirt with relegation this year
This is just further proof of Pochettino being out of his depth and comes back to the points made regarding his lack of ability to read a game and make changes within a game. 2 nil up and while we looked to be cruising, Stoke had 3-4 clear cut chances to score, during a period of the game when Stoke had under performed. Being a spurs fan has cost me a big win today as I was ready to click £30 on stoke to make it 2-2 but I couldn't press enter!.......yet you just knew Stoke would get back into the game.
You can't do that. 2-0 up at home ffs. Credit Stoke for their fightback but that was just awful from Spurs in the second half. Soft defending and rightly punished.
What a balls up. Their double substitution massively helped their cause, while our two weakened us considerably. A bunch of our players don't look match fit and we've got nowhere near enough options up front. It's embarrassing. Totally dominant for the first hour and struggling to hold onto a draw at the end. I'm not going to blame Pochettino for this one, as I think it's down to pissing about in the transfer window and a badly arranged pre-season. This **** needs to get sorted out and soon.
I hear you but, if we had another striker to play in place of Kane, none of that would be relevant. The squad is too reliant on Kane for such an important start to the season. Hell, even Soldado would have retained some level of goal threat.
What should he have done differently, though? Bring on a striker to replace Kane and stick a holding midfielder in to deal with Ireland. We don't have either of those in the squad.
To be fair, any manager with that squad would have problems when the ONLY striker is injured. It's like Redknapp trying to play against Man City without Modric and Parker in the middle. Kranjar as CM. We got done in. Its not the manager. The squad is threadbare in certain areas.
Leaving transfers so late is costing us ... again. At least we got a point more from these 2 matches than last year
I dunno what Lennon did to piss people off, but even he would have been a better option than Lamela in that game.
I predicted the draw, so I'm not surprised or disappointed. I know I give it large on the Prem board (that is all banter, as I trust that most of you will have gathered), but my honest view of us is that we are going to struggle this season. Poch is not a top 4 manager, and we are not a top 4 side. What is our place in the league? I think we were lucky to get 5th last season, and 6th or 7th would not have been unfair on us. If we cannot hold on to a 2-0 lead against the likes of Stoke, at home, we really cannot expect too much from this season.
