You can never be too good to be relegated. Newcastle in 2008 the prime example.

 

You looked good today and played well, and good luck to you guys too. You're right about deserving the win - though I think 0-3 makes it look like we were absolutely thrashed and I don't think that fully reflects the match - we played really well in spells - but that's football, I guess. Besides, as I said earlier, the result might go in our favour in terms of making changes to the formation.

 

Are people honestly worried about relegation. Blimey...!

People said that about hull last season

 

This time last season people were saying that we were going to be relegated, and look how that one turned out. It's pointless worrying this early. No team will be up to their best yet.

I don't think we will get relegated but saying we won't get relegated is naive. It's football and these things happen. I remember many pundits saying hull were too good to go down, even posters on here said so and look where they are now.

We are in for a tough season as our squad feels no bigger than last season with a large schedule games potentially ahead of us.

 

Nor do I ( This season ) , BUT I honestly believe that we need to forget about Europe , we are a relitively small club , and we need to remember that . Manager is Brilliant IMHO , BUT he will go end of NEXT season & we will carry on being a selling club . Add to that I am the worlds biggest worrier / pessimist ........

I can state that as absolute fact.

 

Disagreeing with an opinion is allowed too.

Nobody can say who definitely is or isn't going to be relegated or champions. I just think the point is that bringing it up this early on, when the (new) team are settling in is akin to thinking Leicester might be champions, with Arsenal relegated too. It's just not a thought process that needs to be entertained at the moment, unless you desperately want to sit in a darkened room with four grams of mescaline.

 

Er, Hull?? Too good to go down? In some other alternative universe, yes. Is a difference in what 'people'* say based on transfer money spent and names on paper, and what we genuinely know about our own squad and manager.

* Robbie Savage, for example, is a 'person'

 

You know what, with the new players we have settling in, Europe might actually help us become more coherent in the early part of the season too.

 

We are yet to fill the Schneiderlin sized gap, that was so clearly evident in large portions of the game. Romeu looked great but he will take a while to fully replace him.

 

I think that that gap needed to be recognised as being there tactically, which is wasn't in the first half. When we filled it with Romeu, who may or may not prove to be anywhere near the ability of Morgan, we looked an awful lot more solid.

 

Could be worse. We could be like Sunderland.

 

Thing we have to remember - weird results happen at the start of the season (Arsenal, Leicester etc etc). Every season. Without fail.

Remember as well, there weren't that many new players in that Everton team - they're used to playing together and had an excellent game. They might be ****e next week. We might be brilliant.

 

Sunderland just look really poor tbh.
