Really interesting following the club around Eddie Howe impresses me. He'll be a future England manager.
Howe's a good lad, he does what he needs to do quietly, but he's an up and coming, whereas Bruce was always a wilderness manager, I think he still is.
Howe is class. Really rate him. Apart from his stint at Burnley he's been in and around the set up at Bournemouth since he was 10 - as a junior player. It must mean as much to him as to most the fans. He builds really good attacking teams.
I hope Bournemouth do well this season and can stay up. Howe has a great record and his teams play attractive attacking football. Definitely a future English national team management prospect. Liverpool Monday night will be an interesting test.
I think they'll play attacking football and they'll put on some good shows, but will ultimately fall short, their signings just haven't been good enough.
Probably, they've followed the Burnley principle and spent mainly on the infrastructure and training facilities. I didn't realise they'd only taken 6 years from almost going out of business to getting to the PL.
It's the right thing to do, that premier league money can set the club up for years. Specially for such a tin pot club like Bournemouth that hve **** all. I still think it a travesty that the premier league allowed us to be relegated to be replace with ****e like Bournemouth who can't even meet their ground regulations. 12k ffs and they couldn't even sell it out consistently in a league winning season.
I like Eddie Howe as manager of Bournemouth but what went wrong for him at Burnley? Is he a one trick pony and can only manage within his geographic comfort zone?
A bit harsh. Finished 11th and 8th in Championship. Also signed players like Trippier, Vokes, Ings, Austin and Shackle who where who where all great signings.
No you misunderstand, I really rate Howe, he was doing a great job at Burnley. What I was asking was what went wrong? He left the manager's job at Bournemouth to take up the reins at Burnley, and then returned to Bournemouth. Why?
When Eddie went to Burnley, Bournemouth were still struggling financially. No one blamed him for going. He moved back, simply because he put his family first. His Mother had died and his wife missed the area and the family. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sp...hing_I_could_to_be_successful_in_her_memory_/ It would be hard to find fault with his reasoning.
