Pretty sure it will be 4, Jose will put the bus on axle stands against City to make sure they cant get through.
Last 10 minutes messi has looked like he's doing an impression of Rooney It's pretty good tbh Penalty now
Not something you see every day. We did better than this Barcelona will probably win the second leg 7-0 or something stupid.
im worried about his prospects on a cold night down at Stoke tbh. I can't imagine it's that cold in Bilbao despite the rain. Hopefully Adidas provide him with some high quality long johns
6 points is 6 points. We can only hope the actual performance will improve. My input for what it`s worth, i think Darmian has fitted in so well it is untrue. I also think schneiderlin? will probably end up being our best value for money signing this summer.
I have been a little disappointed with Schneiderlin to be honest, he has lots of Premier League experience yet looks like Memphis in that he needs to get used to it.
Right now, whether it's Schneiderlin or it's Depay, the person responsible is Van Gaal. What are these players being asked to do by Van Gaal and how much does it lend to their natural game.
I take whatever the likes of Carragher, redknapp, Souness, and other pundits say with a huge dollop of salt. Certainly after their useless prediction last season, when to a man they all predicted that United would not be top 4. I've realised they know as much about LVG and United as the average fan. They keep saying how disappointing United are after spending so much money. Yet I have not seen United being dominated and in each of the matches United deserved to win even though they have not played swash buckling style football. Last season we drew this match so we must have made some progress.
I think Memphis has improved over the course of his first two games and have no problem with him, he is new to both the team and the league so will take time to settle. Schneiderlin on the other hand knows the league well and is not getting as involved as I expected, maybe he is deferring to Carrick too much because he is new to the team. Van Gaal may tell them how and where to play but I am pretty sure he doesn't tell them to misplace/under hit passes.
I think it depends on the team as a whole. Tell Schneiderlin to play as a DM instead of box to box and couple that with a style of football that is slow and with lots of touches, and compare that to the pace and movement and style of play around him at Southampton. That's what he's having to adjust to imo...and that's down to LVG. I dont have any qualms about Depay either tbh, but once again, you're playing him as a number 10 one game then sticking him on the left, the next. He's a young player and i dont think it will do him any good. Imagine Fergie doing the same with Ronaldo when he first arrived...
Do you think we may become a little more adventurous once van Gaal develops confidence in our defence? Depay is a winger/wide forward and needs to be used as such, I was not impressed with his world cup performances for van Gaal because he tended to use him as second striker, as he did with us throughout preseason and in the first league game. Van Gaal should either use Young and Depay as wingers with Mata/Herrera at No10 or drop Young (harsh) and let Mata and Herrera float.
You know mate I keep looking at our defence and like everyone I'm thinking "well they're not conceding" but at the same time I remain unconvinced. That defence can carry on playing for another season imo, keep clean sheets and yet the only way Van Gaal or anyone will gain confidence in it is once he brings in a proven leader. I think that's what he's trying to achieve through Blind but I dont think that's the way forward.
