As a matter of no specific interest, who at the club:

    1 Lied to him

2 Who pee'd him off so much that after his best season for us, player of the season AND arguably the best midfield enforcer in the league.

3 Why did we give him away for £7 million...we cannot replace him for double that amount (at least)

Whoever is responsible should be dismisse for gross incompetence.

He was aledgedly due a pay rise under Pulis that he never got and was made promises over player recruitment and style of play which never materialised. Remember, he was a "rescue" player when we got him for circa 5 million and came with a history of petulance. Realistically he has always viewed himself as worthier of a higher perceived club but the big premier teams didn't exactly flock in for him.

As you say he finished on one of his most successful and consistent seasons which made a very valuable (potentially invaluable) core player. He was offered a new contract repeatedly but wouldn't sign and entering his final year he was effectively worth zero. As we have seen in the past, players in this situation normally refuse to play, run their contract down and sign for higher wages because of the lack of transfer fee. I seem to remember a Chelsea player telling Jose he would score an own goal if he was ever played again.

To get the 7 million for him was on paper a very good deal, but in reality we lost a very important player that if we could convince to come could cost serious money. The flip side is he didn't want to stay/play and used us as a stepping stone, and I'm alright with that. He made us better, probably attracted better players and we made money on him.

well said Smithers, a very good player but a player who hands a transfer request in at every opportunity has to go. considering we have Shaqiri for £12 million, £8 million for Nzonzi seems good business.
