Chris Ramsey has been speaking ahead of his side's clash with Cardiff on Saturday. Here are the main points form his press conference:
    • Charlie Austin is available for tomorrow providing he comes through training today. Had slight niggle at Charlton.

    • No firm offers currently on table for Austin.

    • Ramsey says there have been talks over a new contract for Austin but 'I don't get involved in that side of things.

    • Ramsey expects Leroy Fer to be a QPR player beyond the window

    • Ramsey says Fer wants to prove people wrong about the failed Sunderland medical & claims he wants to play for the national team again.

    • Says Fer can use his experience to be a leader in the QPR squad this season

    • Ramsey confirms the club remain in negotiations over Tim Ream transfer but says they're also exploring other targets should it ultimately not end well.

    • Ramsey hopes to bring in 2 or 3 more

Seems the club are standing firm and not being played for the fool like in previous windows.

Think Fer could be great in the Champ if he's up for it, but will need to be something special if he wants to get back into his national team.

Ream will be a good signing if we can get that done soon.

I'd be happy if Fer stayed beyond the window. Must've been signed with a relegation clause in his contract too, so wont be on PL money.
Him and Chery could form a lethal partnership in a 4-2-3-1.

    Philips - Fer - Chery
    Austin/Polter

As front 4's go in this division that has to rank right up there amongst the best of them.

If Austin doesn't leave, WOW, we will eat teams alive.

Let's wait until 01 September. Things will be clearer by then.

I think Chery and Fer are both suited to playing in the centre.

I'm hoping to see a freshness from tomorrow's first home fixture; a chance to start again.

A pity to learn that Jamie Mackie is a doubt. He's the kind of player who can set the tempo and get the crowd positive from the first kick.

Fer would have to be first choice. Chery an impact sub or try out on the left.

Also missing the huge key point that Austin cannot play as a lone striker.

Que? He did it all season under Redknapp last time we were here. As we soon learned to our cost when the gamble that he would last all season without getting injured backfired on the old dinosaur. That bit of stupidity on its own should have cost him his job

I thought BZ sued a few games along side him?
    History anyway
Like to see all players who have premiership associations attached to them leave
It's the only way to cure the infection of the last few years ... As said will hit some fans hard but we have to start again

I know this is a bit of a pointless "No sh!t Sherlock" sort of post!

Like all of us I hope we win and win convincingly tomorrow or this forum is going to turn nasty with loads of Ramsey out style posts and I don't really want that tbh!
They say patients is a virtue and Rome was not built in a day, well we have been waiting far too long for the foundations of our Rome to be laid now.

Come on you R's, FFS, we can do this so make us proud:emoticon-0148-yes:

(If carlsberg did not sh!t Sherlock type posts:azn:)

No judgements until end of September earliest. Even after the transfer window closes there is the Championship loan period. The only people who will get wound up will be those who expect us to bounce straight back. That isn't the plan, if we do it year one Ramsey is a genius and should be given the job for life. You can buy your way up with 'experience' like Redknapp bored us with or earn it with potential. I think we are going for the latter, but it will be hit and miss for a bit.

Wonder if we will see our 'old boys' Fabio, Matt Connolly and the outstanding Federico Macheda tomorrow.

Where's the match day thread slackers?

Cheers Stan. I voted mid table in the where do you think thread. I'v just had a week from hell so my slightly drunk and pointless no sh!t sherlock post is more a yearning for a good old win by a few goals. We have had a bad rut of winless games of late in league games as you well know. A win this weekend will be just the tonic to put the smile back on my and many others faces.

Whatever happens I don't want to jump on any this is how I think it should be done or fire him bandwagon. I say that as I know FA:emoticon-0148-yes:<laugh>

I just (we all) could do with that winning feeling again. Thank you QPR for doing the business against Yeovil. That did make me happy!
