    Genius humour. Love it

Meanwhile, back on topic. I love the idea that we might have closed Scholes down in that gamy at SMS. As if more experienced teams nullified him. Zidane praised Scholes and rightly so. A truly great player with no ego on parade. Harry Reed should be force fed videos of Scholes and Zidane ( minus **** tackles and head butts). Of all recent Saints graduates, he has the potential to be brilliant IMO.

I`d certainly like to see him get more game time - I hope recent arrivals don`t limit his opportunities.

Everytime I hear the words 'midfield artist' I think of Steve Williams

I was there when Jimmy Melia scored a goal! The Milton Road end nearly had collective heart failure, so great was the shock.

He was my father's favourite at the time. Mind you what did he know being a Watford supporter.

My brother made up a song for him, to the tune of "Edelweiss" from the Sound of Music, can't remember much of it, except "bald and deaf, inside left" springs to mind.

That's just reminded me that I made a cheeky acquisition of The Complete Fast Show that I have yet to unwrap! There's my late night weekend entertainment sorted.

Seeing a player who was balding did not inspire confidence at the time. From my perspective back then he looked so old. Oh, how perception has changed!!

The classic was the Milton Road Mob's adaptation of Simon & Garfunkel's Cecilia. That was one example of why I went from the Archers Road end to the Milton Road. They had all the best fun.

In those days, the Milton was today's Northam [for those reading this who don't know - not Chilco].

He may have been useful when he played for Liverpool, but for Saints he was truly awful. A lot of people made excuses at the time that he was thinking ahead of the remaining rabble we had on display at the time, but in truth he was well past his best?

Yep, pretty bang on Dell Boy. The only good thing about him was that he represents the days when Liverpool were our feeder club, along with Jimmy Case of course. I'll leave Bruce Grobelaar out of it for now!

Think our best import from Merseyside at that time was maybe Jimmy Gabriel, now there was a guy that knew how to handle himself?

But we can forgive him as he was part of our promotion winning team in 1966. Thereafter he quickly disappeared from view.
