Well to get away from the sulking Maureen here is the thread for our game against Newcastle. And as nobody ever reads the first post of a match day thread this is it. Team News Swansea The same as against Chelsea Team News Newcastle No bloody idea Important news from the club http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/important-information-regarding-season-cards-2590671.aspx MATCH FACTS Head-to-head Swansea have collected 17 points against Newcastle since being promoted to the Premier League, more than any other side over the same period. Swansea City Swansea lost their final home game of the 2014-15 Premier League season against Manchester City - they have never lost back-to-back home games in the league under Garry Monk. *Lukasz Fabianski has made 139 saves since the start of last season in the Premier League, more than any other goalkeeper. *Bafetimbi Gomis has scored six goals in his last seven Premier League games for Swansea City. *Andre Ayew scored after 29 minutes on his Premier League debut against Chelsea. It took him 599 minutes to score his first goal in France. Newcastle United Newcastle have lost six successive Premier League away games, scoring just one goal in the process. *Only relegated QPR had a worse away record than Newcastle in the Premier League last season. The Magpies lost 12 and won just three of their 19 matches on the road. *Newcastle used just one English player (Jack Colback) on the opening weekend of the season, the fewest of all Premier League sides. *Georginio Wijnaldum scored a debut goal against Southampton and his pass completion rate of 95%, was the best of anyone who started the game. *Papiss Cisse has scored four goals in four Premier League appearances against the Swans.
Newcastle are very vulnerable to crosses. Get ayew and montero to really press for the line and whip them crosses into gomis and siggy, they will be a massive threat for the toon defence. We should also look to play for corners.
Would take a draw on this one. Newcastle are not the same side as last season. SOD IT!! 4-1 TO THE JACKS!!
Difficult to say with this one as London jack says they are not the same as last season but I still think we have better players so I predict 2-0 swans
I thought I heard that Ki was out for a couple of weeks? Anyone else heard that? This is what the Evening Post says http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...ueng-fitness/story-27602411-detail/story.html
"KI Sung-Yueng will be assessed in training on Friday before a decision is made on whether he is fit enough to face Newcastle." No need to hurry him back, we have great options in midfield now. If we continue in the same vein as our superb performance against the champions, and no reason to think not, then this is a definite win for me. As to the score, well I got lucky with the result last time and I'm going for 2 - 0 this time.
We had an outstanding performance last weekend. It would be nice to follow it up with another good performance and preferably a win. Hopefully the summer additions will give us a greater consistency this season. Swans 2-1
Ki is unlikely to play imo , why rush him when we have more than enough quality to compensate for his absence ,
I think this will be a Swansea win, but Newcastle have improved from last season, and their 2-2 draw with the Saints shows that, so I'm going with a 2-1 to the Swans!.............
With the quality we have in our squad I don't see the Chelsea performance being a one off. I'm going for a 3-1 victory
On paper we should win and based on the opening game we should win. So 0-1 to Newcastle despite having 70% possession, hitting the woodwork 4 times and two blatant penalty decisions turned down.
