To be fair, I'd never heard the story about Rodgers banging a transsexual. He's a proper Liverpool leg end!
To be fair, it probably never happened. Just something people made up to discredit him. ... And if he did... Well whatever floats his boat. Ronaldo got busted with two trannies in Brazil. OJ Simpson caught AIDS off a tranny prostitute. Seems to be a number of sports people out there with the same fetish.
Couldn't care less what he does in his private life... Don't get peoples obsession with knowing every details of peoples private lives. I barely talk about mine to the people I work with let alone share it with millions of others I don't know via twitter/facebook or in books
In all seriousness I tend to agree with you. By and large I couldn't care who's banging who! However I think managers and players are in different positions of responsibility and authority. Players **** about in their private lives and are told that they've failed their responsibilities as a role model to young people. Most won't care as the consequences count for nothing. A manager ****s about in his private life and it puts him in a difficult position to be an authority figure and role model to his players. A young player would understandably view a manager with a degree of contempt/comedy if the manager was lecturing the player on his behaviour outside of football while the manager was also misbehaving one way or another. Brendan: Raheem, be a good boy and stop smoking hippy crack Raheem: No problem boss, I'll do that if you stop banging the staff behind your wife's back
True, that's different between the general public knowing and the people that work for them though. Footballers shouldn't be role models though, role models should be people you know, people who do good in the world or your local community etc.
Have to agree about twitter and facebook. Seriously dont get wtf that's about. It's the modern day equivalent of bringing out your photo album. And who the fck other than you wanted to look at those! I have little or no desire to see people's holiday snaps or what they had for dessert.
Again agree but sadly that often isn't the case. Every season I have a battle with my lad about his new United shirt. I'll relent on buying the shirt as he's a kid and it means a lot to him but to date I haven't relented on having a player's name on the back of it.
FFS I cannot understand some of you lot. Who is to blame for the gossip? Who started talking about his private life? Rodgers himself did. Who talked about having a rough time? He did. A bit disingenuous of people to accuse others of giving Rodgers a hard time when he himself started the whole thing.
Is right. From our club, the nearest I'd have allowed my daughter to have role models (she's 19 now, so that's not an issue) would be the likes of Dalglish, Barnes and Owen. Gobshites like Fowler, Suarez and Sterling (fine players as they were) I'd hope she'd avoid. I mean, George Best remains the finest player I've ever seen in the flesh (as a child, towards the end of career, but yes, I am that old....) but a role model? And why the **** should he be?
. "I spent 90% of my money on women, drink and fast cars. The rest I wasted" Did he really say it, who knows? but seems a good enough reason to be a role model for me.
