I saw the media grilling Ranieri over this on SSN. I would imagine if Pearson was in charge, he'd ask if the media would hold themselves to account for using similar language numerous times.
With the way things get blown out of all proportion these days by some members of the media who are trying to create a story out of nothing it is probably best for the club to bite its collective lip and let this whole thing blow over as quickly and quietly as possible. We don't want to get into a trial by media as that will only end up badly for us, and I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who would love to have the opportunity to pick up another stick to beat our football club with.

Evening Foxes. Firstly, I'll say that I'm not entirely sure why I'm doing this, but here goes: The Japanese refer to themselves colloquially as 'Js' (pronounced in English as 'Jays'). They consider 'Jap' as a derogatory and very insulting term. Comparing it to Brit/Aussie is a bit of a straw man as Brits/Aussies don't consider those terms as derogatory. The fact that Japanese people find it very insulting means Vardy shouldn't have said it. However, as some have pointed out, it was almost certainly ignorance rather than cold, hard racism.
