It doesn't matter what channels it gets, these boxes gets the feeds that streamed across the net, so one day it could get a game from sky, the next it could get a game streamed over to the states. And the latest films and stuff are not broadcast on TV, it links into websites that have them on their servers etc - and they are wifi capable
The in laws have a place in Spain and they had an internet TV service over there which had everything - sports, movies, the lot. He's brought it back to the UK and it works with no problems. No more Sky price hikes for them. Can't remember what it's called. It is internet TV though so the picture is nowhere near HD level and can be stuttery at times.
preinstalled sd card available from thepihut.com raspberry pi 2 available from amazon , currys , maplins powered by micro usb i've got mine just hanging behind tv and powered with the usb socket on tv. you can get cheap cases on ebay £3-5 if you want its plugged into your router by ethernet cable or get wifi dongle about £6 again on ebay
wonderful little computers these - windows 10 IOT has just been released for them also. the trouble with these android boxes - although they work - they just don't it really well. install kodi on your pc - and see the performance difference between that and an mx box
if the forum allows - i could write a little guide to show you how to install it on your laptops ,pcs or htpcs
Have you seen the Maiz box ? It doesn't run on android at all, but it's 3 times more expensive than stuff on eBay. I just want something that works without all the hassle of building a system myself
it only runs openelec (kodi) the same as any other box android boxes vary in quality greatly . they only run small amounts of flash memory and that gets overloaded quickly when you install apps onto them. try it on your pc first , see if you'll use it . it will run the same apps on your pc as these little boxes do. download kodi from http://kodi.tv/download/ install it and then follow this guide to install wookie. Wookie gives you all the add ons you need https://seo-michael.co.uk/tutorial-how-to-install-the-wookie-wizard-for-kodi/
Okay will give it a shot tomorrow then , my first android box gave up the ghost so maybe you are right.
android boxes normally get their memory filled up by apps , failed movie downloads and normally can get revived by a factory reset. if you are able to set up kodi on a pc then you'll then be able to do it on a box - its exactly the same .you download koi from the play store , install wookie and off you go theres normally a little reset button inside the spdif hole on the back of them little boxes
Yeah I tried that on my android box, but the screen is totally black, and the guys selling it have gone. I keep on thinking about having one of mini PCs to run this kind of thing
i don't see if there is actually a raspberry pi supplied with that!!! it looks like that is just accessories try this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8GB-Media...id=100005&rk=1&rkt=6&mehot=pp&sd=331534694229
