    • Robert Green insists a transfer window all the way to next month is nonsense - even thought the QPR keeper could stand to benefit.
Rangers are far from out of the woods trying to keep the 35-year-old, with head coach Chris Ramsey worrying the vultures are circling to snatch his only frontline keeper.
Green was beaten twice at Charlton on Saturday on day one, but admits it’s beyond him why buying and selling players needs another month.

Happy heap: Charlton players congratulate Tony Watt for 1-0
“The transfer window staying open until September is a crazy idea,” he said.
“Why it can’t end last Friday, I just don’t know. It’s hardly as if clubs can turn around and say we’ve forgotten to buy a striker, or we’ll play the first game without a right-back.
“You’ve got all summer to sort yourselves out, and no one’s going to have any new targets before the end of the month.”

Green is blasé about another influx of players; he’s seen it all before in his time at Lotus Road.
“It’s been a new QPR every summer I’ve been here: the turnover of players has seen nearly 70 players in three summers - it’s quite incredible, but needs must.
“There were not a lot of players left and a lot of players needed to come in to field a team. It’s been hard work for the upper echelons of the club.”
Rangers started well at Charlton but then wilted in the heat, and had no answer once the keeper was beaten at his near post by Tony Watts seven minutes into the second half.

Tackle: Charlton Athletic's El-Hadji Ba in action with Queens Park Rangers Jamie Mackie
Green said: “Once he steps inside it opens up the goal both sides, and it leaves the keeper getting beat at his near post. “Some days you get a hand to it, and other times it creeps in.
“It’s disappointing when you get a hand to it, not to keep it out.”
Talking of outs, and ins for that matter, the man recalled to the England squad for the first time in three years last season deflected Rs’ promotion chances, not least because he and the rest have to wait until September 1 to find out the exact squad over the following crucial four months.
“You don’t know what team you’ve got in a month’s time,” he explained.
