Difficult to fully assess for two main reasons, getting used to the new set up and the heat in the Medway Stand today, so bearing that in mind... 1. Jackson 2. Dickenson 3. Dack Just a couple of points i wanted to note was that the match day sponsers MOM i believe was 16 Osasdbe, I did feel the lad looked knackered late in the second half and the intense heat and should have been taken off 15 minutes earlier, he was dead beat. Also a mention for Norris, much improved and he may of got 3rd over Dack if only the guy can learn to turn from right to left on a player than left to right and getting sandwiched, I noted he did it at least three times, confidence or ability, hope that makes sense!
1) Dickenson ( His best game in a Gills shirt by a mile) 2) Osadebe 3) Dack So many excellent performances today it was hard to narrow it down to pick a top three. A special mention also for the manager who got his team selection and formation spot on.
What a performance it was. Went with a mate who hadn't been to a gills match for 12 years since we beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-1 as he has only just moved back to medway. He seemed to think that we play like that all the time. If only that was the case. Anyway back to the top 3 well this is tough. 1. Osabede- I was so impressed with him. Such a young player and for a player who plays in defensive midfield he does so much more. His pace is brilliant and he isn't bad on the ball either. He has such a future. 2. Jackson- What a throw. 3. Houghton- Looks absolutely quality. Could have easily included Deji as he was brilliant but could also have included Dickenson as he was brilliant even though he had to play a defensive role which I think he done well in. Got to say everyone done pretty well so picking a top 3 was tough which is why we will find most of the starting 11 might get picked by someone.
this thread is not fair ! - of course ALL of the players were No.1, so selection is very difficult. 1. Dack 2. Osabede 3. Dickenson ( best game he's had for Gills ) and yet the others were superb - Egan was solid ( as ever ). Houghton oozed class. Jackson can throw the ball better than many players can kick it. Nelson's greatest threat was from crosses - and his handling was as good as you'd like - even Norris managed a 'home' goal to add to his hold up and link-up play.
Really difficult top three as i mentioned in my other post but 1 Jackson 2 Dickenson 3 Dack simply because of his wonderful goal ahead of Osedebe
1. Dack 2. Dickenson. 3. Osadebe. Frankly those 3 could be in any order or perm any 3 from 11, the whole team played as a unit and no player let the side down.
As mentioned by others, any of the 11 that played could have got into the top 3 in this thread because they all played so well. I will go with this though. 1. Dickenson - looked like a brand new player, nothing like what I saw last season. Massively improved. 2. Jackson - Caused real problems with his speed and that massive throw he's got. Defensively also very good. 3. Osadebe - played with a much older head on his young shoulders and ran ever so hard everywhere.
