I'd love to get Whittingham but he played the full game for Cardiff today and apparently is back in favour and I can't see them letting him go. Leon Britton is now SEVENTH choice for Swansea in MF according to todays match commentators so I'm sure Monk is open to a bid. although apparently he wants to go to the MLS.! Also he's 33.
Agreed Jelavic was absolutely dire, can't remember him doing anything of note or having any impact, in fact the only thing I remember him doing is fouling. That said, he made two great runs into space and if Akpom would pass the ball instead of trying to take on every enemy player twice, he probably would have scored twice.

Hayden was IMHO the better of the two. Very composed and classy in the middle with a nice Megs and a clean set of heels to help set up the first. Chuba- great goal, but I wish he would spend less time throwing himself to the ground like he had been hit by a sniper.
I don't think we can complain at that. Limited Huddersfield to very little; we seemed to always in possession and, despite lacking a bit of fluency, never really looked in doubt of not picking up 3 points. Hayden, Taylor, Akpom and Clucas all played well in their debuts. Hudd looked fitter and better. Davies and Dawson are solid. We're going to have more good times than bad this season. We're third. Let's keep it up with a tricky fixture to Wolves next weekend.
Thought Akpom and Hayden both showed class today - McGregor back to his usual self (I hope), Robbo was outstanding and so was Clucas - but Curtis Davies, what a confident display! Welcome back Big Man!
McGregor - solid but little to do. Taylor - faded after a bright start Dawson - composed on the ball, dominant in the air Davies - see Dawson Robbo - we all know going forward is his strength but defensively still naïve Elmo - our Mr. Dependable. So many of our chances come from him. Hope he stays. Hudd - showed touches of class. Hayden - good solid debut Clucas - looked a bit nervy to start with but grew into the game. Only a good save stopped him scoring another. Jelavic - worked hard and assisted Elmo's assist for the first goal. Unhappy to come off and no hand shake with SB Akpom - took his goal well but needs to learn when to pass Aluko - sharp Meyler - solid Luer - had little to do when he came on. Huddersfield were poor, let's not get excited by this victory.
I agree with Huddersfield being poor, they still managed to cause some issues in defence for us. I thought Jelavić was poor today. I know it was a hot day, but that performance was well below what we have all come to expect from Jelavić. New starters good with two debut goals. Play did look a bit disjointed, but that's to be expected with so many new starters. Old heads - Brilliant. Dawson/Huddlestone/Aluko/Meyler/Robertson we MUST keep as the axis for challenging for a successful season. Dawson was outstanding today - distribution and defensive play was immense. I think we'll grow as a side as the season progresses. Looking forward to it.
Totally agree armchaIR FAN iM EXPAT IN SPAIN AND BURNSIE AND HIS PET WERE DIABOLICAL ALL GAME NO WAY WERE THEY COMMENTATING SWANNIE KEPT ON ABOUT BURNSIES TURD IN A POOL ABSOLUTE SHOCKING EXPERIENCE . THEY JUST KEPT ON ABOUT HOW DIFFERENT IT WAS FROM THE PREM GAMES PAIR OF TOSSERS
Today was markedly different, because we didn't always default to hoping Elmo could throw something in there Thy helped him too I thought
Apparently no bids for anyone other than N'Doye so far, so that could restrict what we can get in. Maybe this ban Hernandez has is making some hold off for now.
Really hope we keep Hernandez, I'm hoping his absence is putting people off. He could be really great in the Championship.
It was emptier (not as empty as the West Stand was) but I thought when the stadium was singing, it was louder than it had been a lot of the time last season.
That's interesting I was in West, so couldn't tell how empty it was But I thought the rest was quiet apart from a couple of short spells
