Grrr .... At Bournemouth Air Show that day Highly unlikely to get back in time .... Might have to review travel arrangements !!
Quick run-down on Midtjylland - the team, the club, the ground and the history - now here: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/content....drawn-against-Danish-champions-FC-Midtjylland Courtesy of yours truly.
Not sure about that Rich. I think it'll be a decent test. We should come through, but then that's been said before. Denmark's a great place though - will be fun for those who can eke out a ticket!
So, presumably, only season ticket holders who have been to every away game for the last 100 seasons will qualify for the Danish leg?
Oh my goodness. I have three potential customers that I visit within 45 minutes..... oh I bet they are away in August. Please be there, please let me get a ticket
Very much doubt it. They dropped out of champions league on away goals and started the regular season with 3 wins on the bounce. A good lead on the home leg will be essential. They score a lot from set pieces (and almost half their goals come in last 15 minutes).
Have a look at the youth team that included ~Walcott and Dyer etc.. didn't make the grade with us but became a full Finnish international.
1 - To APOEL Nicosia 2 - The Danish Superligaen doesn't hold a candle to the Eredivisie 3 - Sunderland thumped them in a friendly, under Di Canio, in the middle of the Danish season If we don't win this convincingly we need to look at ourselves. Try and get to at least 3-0 at home again and then enjoy the away leg.
Clicked on your link YBPR and further reading link, DTLW. Although Benham uses his own moneyball method, the attention to detail and the use of statistics and analysis at Midtjylland is actually quite similar to Saints.
FC Midtjylland boss Jess Thorup... "English teams have traditionally not really been able to decide how to approach this tournament, but I have been following the communications of Ronald Koeman. They are taking this tournament seriously so we cannot expect any help from them. We need to play to very good matches, and then some, to be even close to having a chance."
loved him! he couldn't get in the 1st team so he left, we had too many midfielders. came through the academy with surman etc
