Stolen from twitter - brilliant <applause>

England inexplicably deviating from their first-innings strategy
of taking a wicket every 11 balls. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Thus proving my theory that the hundred run opening partnership was nothing but a 'blip' <laugh>

They were always going to come out fighting, but we are now into the underbelly :)

Any body with tickets for tomorrow...you shall go to the ball - however brief it may be!
Worth it just to see the euphoria as the final wicket falls, though <ok>

edit : I reserve the right to alter / delete this entry based on the next few overs :emoticon-0105-wink:

A friend of mine has day 3 and 4 tickets, he was seriously worried as the evening session wore on that he wouldn't see anything.

Wonderful to watch from afar though, hopefully will inspire youngsters as 2005 did. I do somewhat wish we'd seen a bit more "proper test cricket", rather than players taking things on like it was a limited overs game.

Aussies keeping a low profile here at the moment. Unlike their mouthy selves after the Lord's test.

Sir Geoffrey Boycott would snog you if he could read that. <yikes>
I guess it will cost the cricket grounds concerned a lot of money in ticket refunds if no days 4 and 5 - and in theory, no more than 90 minutes play on day 3? I'm not sure how that works?

I heard that the grounds are actually insured against a lack of play, so not as out of pocket as you'd expect.

I don't think you need a lot of play to avoid giving refunds either. I guess for the punters it'll be bittersweet, £80 or so for very little cricket, but seeing England win the Ashes.

Much as this series has been exciting, I do like seeing batsmen that the bowler has to work hard to get out. Not taking wild swipes at deliveries a foot outside off stump.

I just checked with a couple of avid cricket types on twitter and, as you say:

    Daniel Brigham ‏@dan_brigham
@cromercanary yeh full refunds. Grounds are covered by insurance though, but obvs miss out on bar/food etc takings

    Tom Haylett ‏@TomJHaylett
@cromercanary yes mate full refund for day 4 and 5. And for today if less than 10 overs. Between 10-25 overs half refund.

Amusingly I think Shane Watson would have been useful for the Aussies here. He's more capable in these conditions than most. And whilst he will inevitably get out lbw he would have put a few runs on. Plus he can bowl.

At the risk of being branded a heretic, and getting burned at the stake on the end of my pier, I so don't give a monkey's what happens at Carrow Road this afternoon. My day cannot be dampened from this moment on <ok> :emoticon-0169-dance
