I don't think coutinho is best used in the front line of a 433. Markovich and Lallana are second tier, and Ibe is still not a nailed on starter. I think there is easily room for a winger like Pedro:

    ------Henderson--Milner------
    -------------Coutinho-------------
    Firmino---Benteke----Pedro

    Sure but he's a manc.

    Apparently.

Also they can add 3mil to any fee and take it off if they wish it's a new rule added to Fergie time in the statutes this year.

    .....

We need to sell to buy in that area. We cannot accumulate more. Plus if we have ibe we better well develop him

  4. Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal said: "I think about the human being more than the player and I don't think he can handle that."

De Gea can't handle LVG thinking about human beings

If we were to buy Pedro, then this could be our front half choices:

    -------Henderson--Milner------
    -------------Coutinho-------------
    Firmino---Benteke----Pedro

    --------Can------Allen-----------
    -----------Lallana-------------------
    Marko----Sturridge-----Ibe-----

The only players I've left out are Lucas, Ings & Tex? With Ojo now off on loan

I think that's the kind of strength we need to be looking at to compete in multiple competitions throughout the season.

The weak link clearly can be seen in midfield (allen and lucas), followed by CB, then I think the winger/inside forward situation....
Pedro at 22mil is a no brainer, especially if United start chipping at the fee (as rumoured)

Will be interesting to see the criteria for defensive error leading to goals. I'm sure both are involved in a lot more (indirectly).

Not surprised really - both are really poor defenders. Saving grace for Skrtel is that he played pretty much most games unlike Lovren. But I do find it incredible how Skrtel escapes criticism!

i supppose i should make up an excuse for uir to use as he'll be desperate by tomorrow.

Van Gaal is proving his toughness by benching the guy all year and is going to write off the potential 20mil fee just to prove a point to other utd players... players like valencia, young et al...

not to valdes or di maria though.... they've won enough to know a gobshite when they see one.

Or maybe like the great manager he is he knows de Gea's concentration is going to be compromised and so, for the sake of the team, has left him out?

Will be interesting to see what happens when we play our first game against Brugge.

    You really really believe that?

This is lfc fans you are talking to. We've sat through Rodgers lieing about carroll.... we have seen this **** a few times where players are not cup tied too.

If you drop the guy and turn to your new guy or a kid for the first game then you are saying de gea is in fact totally unsettled and wanting to leave now. This hands the invite to real to bid.

Real are not paying a stupid fee to you are are willing to wait it out.

In the end it's a real pity for Utd but you have to take the best offer you can get when it comes and if Valdes and lindgaaard are being told to leave then youve got to buy.

It's a pity cos Utd were 2 players from being back... if of course the new guys work.

Italian media are reporting that a fee has been agreed, but personal terms with the player are yet to be finalised.
Forza Italian Football explain: “The directors of Fiorentina have asked Borini to spread his current salary over a multi-year contract and are now awaiting the player’s response, who seems very interested in returning to Serie A.”

How does that work? Current salary spread over a multi-year contract is a called a pay cut. Or his salary will increase year on year cos they're broke now?
