I'm not sure Brazilians know what a DM is until they get over here. :)

... And Rafa was right to convert him. Lucas cannot score goals but he can tackle.

Is Lucas a British citizen yet? He's been over long enough Shirley.

Yep, I can't see Henderson being dropped either. But personally, I think he's a squad player for a top 4 team similar to how Milner was for City.

Lucas at his peak (which was still levels below someone like Mascherano) could hold his own at times. But from what I've seen over the past couple of years and preseason, his legs have completely gone. He looked shambolic in preaeason - easily beaten and slow to the ball. Some pundits were actually creaming themselves of his performance against Swindon but I thought it was horrendous.

    Which issues?

  9. Restrictions on transfer activity, having to run everything by a committee and get at least a majority approval. Having restrictions on the type of player and the geographical area majority can be brought from. Of course, a new manager would have the same self imposed arrogance although I'm yet to come across a manager that doesn't possess arrogance, you need it. you need to believe in your own abilities and theories, when they don't work it is viewed as arrogance but no one questions it when its successful (unless your name is Jimmy of course ;))

Most managers outside of England are used to this though - they all work under a DoF and committee structure. This is the norm and it's the best way to do it.

  11. Not many managers (or committees in this case) are told to mainly buy young and British (born or based) players. Any incoming manager would still have that hurdle to face.

Young - yes. And that's a good policy IMO. British based? No - that's all on Rodgers because he does his scouting via MOTD.

To save you with your 'ITK' comeback ( ;) ), read all of the articles from journos with connections with the club and they all say that Rodgers's main targets were the likes of Allen, Borini, Lallana, Lovren and Benteke.

We are not forced to buy from Britian - it's because our manager has a poor eye for talent.

  13. I prefer to get info from the horses mouth rather than a third party. The owners and their employees have said British based

Rodgers could have the best eye for talent in the world and still wouldn't get to watch players from outside our own league. He has a job you know.

Buying from Britain just suggests our scouts are ****e and/or not trusted.

The scouts need to identify the players but Rodgers should be watching at least the highlights of the shortlisted players, if not, a game or too.

I'd hate to think Rodgers would sign a player without seeing him play a full game once.

  16. Did you not listen to Jimmy? He watches a full game of them on MOTD! #itk

Lol yep, I'm sure Rodgers was forced to sign Lallana, Lovren, Borini, Allen and Benteke because they were all British based. <ok>

I'm amazed that when I said nothing less that a huge performance was acceptable I got told we should just puss out and play like any other game and now our player comes out and says so too.

My view is this. Lfc we're a big club. Big clubs don't do what we did last day last season. It must be put right
